Greetings from Singapore!
We stayed 2 nights in this resort hotel, in the Takamoku suite. It was such a relaxing and peaceful place, and felt as though we were transported into our own island home - away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Having a whole villa to ourselves with unobstructed views of the ocean and the view of the Takamoku island opposite made it feel like we were in our own private holiday home. There is great intentionality in the design of the place, even the shrubbery that was well maintained to blend the houses with the wild trees so organically.
The food was beautifully and expertly crafted by the hotelโs gifted chef and team. Each a work of art and heartfelt purpose of showcasing the local farmersโ produce and natural harvest in the native Amakusa land and sea. Being tourists, we were asked for our favourite Japanese food which the chef surprised us by cooking it from scratch on the spot (our request was Japanese curry).
Last but definitely not least, the exceptionally warm and accommodating hotel staff that made us feel right at home. Despite English not being their first language, they made tremendous effort to engage us in conversation and explained the details of each of our dishes. I greatly appreciated these interactions with the friendly staff that helped us enjoy our stay even more.
I cannot recommend this place more for your next rejuvenating and peaceful onsen getaway. Hope to go...

Tayuta was incredibly private, beautiful, and welcoming. The staff addressed us by our first names with "~san," creating a friendly atmosphere while providing attentive hospitality.
The Amakusa Suite was a standalone unit, spacious, comfortable, and featuring an excellent pool. The sauna facilities and the water quality, sourced from 820 meters underground, were also exceptional.
Both dinner and breakfast were more modern compared to other Japanese onsen resorts, with stunning tableware and incredibly delicious dishes. The meals, crafted with ingredients from Amakusa, were truly impressive, and the drink pairings from all over Japan were outstanding.
After sharing my experience on Instagram, I received a flood of DMs and comments from people saying they wanted to visit. Although we traveled far by plane, ferry, and taxi to get there, it was absolutely worth the...
