At most 3 stars but what it lacks is made up with morning uninterrupted views of Fuji San. The hotel is dated and worn but is only 1 hour from the base of Mount Fuji. The hotel has a bowling alley and onsen located on the 7th and 8th floor of the hotel which provides spectacular views of the city and Mount Fuji. The dinner buffet was brilliant with wonderful selection of traditional Japanese food. The morning buffet was just as good as well. The room was very basic with a small hard bed, there was no thermostat control for the room which was slightly annoying but at 6am when you open the window there are some wonderful picturesque views. But as a regular traveler the facilities left much to be desired. ||||We stayed in the "western style" side of the facility. Our room was moderately sized (small for American hotels, average for European), but unfortunately had not been updated in quite some time. The rest of the facilities were old; run down. I think the hotel is probably understaffed and doesn't draw enough business for regular upgrades.||||Bottom line: if you are looking for a location in the mountains near Mt. Read moreWe stayed on the 7th floor in the “ western style side “ , view to Mt. Fuji side. In the early morning you can see the Mt. Fuji. The room quite big compare to similar hotels in Tokyo. We arrive near the lake and called the reception and they quickly picked up us. Also in the morning the have a shuttle bus .
