Hotel Green Plaza Tojoko — Hotel in Kato

My family stayed in Hotel Green Plaza Tojoko for a night in late December 2018. We used the hotel as a midway stop between Kobe and Kinosaki. The hotel building was a prominent structure in the countryside area and could be easily seen far away. It was well-maintained. The reception staff spoke little English. We had booked a maisonnette room, and it was on the top floor. The lower floor was a Japanese room and the upper was a western room with twin beds. It was really spacious and all our lugguage cases could be fully opened. The room was clean and offered a good forest view. There were two small lifts and little waiting time was required during mealtimes. Our plan included buffet dinner and breakfast plus four “super passes” to the Toy Kingdom theme park next to the hotel. During mealtimes the restaurant was filled with local families with pre-school kids. We had to be very cautious when taking hot food as young kids were everywhere. The food was mainly Japanese ones. Several kinds of freshly blended coffee were available! The restaurant staff did not speak any English. They always smiled anyway. ||After dinner I tried the hotel onsen. Again the changing room, bathhouse, and onsen pools were occupied by parents and their young kids. Solo users were minimal. Perhaps the biggest disappointment was the water temperature. Probably due to the presence of young kids, the onsen water was lukewarm – as indicated by a screen display, the water temperature of the indoor pool was set at most 39C (in winter time!). The showering water of bathhouse was also lukewarm. Nevertheless the onsen pools were very large and all users were adequately accommodated. The outdoor pool looked great. ||In the evening we had to set the two futon beds. Contrary to our expectation, staff should set them during our dinner time. ||The air-conditioning was an old-fashioned central one and we could only adjust the strength of airflow but temperature. As measured by the room thermometer, the temperature was kept at 24-25C. It was too warm for us. ||The hotel offered free car parks to users. We could leave our car in the hotel car park in next morning when visiting the Toy Kingdom. ||I think the Hotel Green Plaza Tojoko is a good one for its reasonable price and physical settings. It seems that it is specialized for local families with young kids. It at least deserves a 4-point rating if we were one of them. I may not recommend it to solo or couple travelers. However it definitely fits families with young kids. ...

娘の卒業祝いで利用しました。もう12歳なのでおもちゃ王国は利用しませんが、旅行サイトで1番お安かったので決めました。

最寄り駅から送迎バスが出ていますが、とても分かりにくいです。最寄り駅の改札口を右に回り込んでトンネルを抜けた先のロータリーで、特に案内看板もなく時間表もなく、ホテルに電話をしたら黄色のベンチが目印だそうです。その際に次の発車時間の案内もなく事務的な感じでした。その時点で駅に着いて20分は経っていたでしょうか。寒くて手がかじかむ中、公式ホームページを見たらバスが出た直後だったので(だいたい1時間に1本)雪も降っていたので隣のコメダ珈琲で時間を潰しました。 バス時間を確認しなかった自分にも非がありますが、「次の発車時間まで寒いのでどうぞ暖かい場所でお待ちください」のひと言があったらまた違う印象だったと思います。 車利用が多いのか私たち以外に乗車はなく貸切状態でしたが、バスの運転手さんは気さくで丁寧に接してくれました。

アメニティは必要最低限きちんと揃えてあり、さすがおもちゃ王国ホテルと言った感じで、子ども用の浴衣はサイズ展開もあり、補助便器やオムツ用バケツ、バイキングには離乳食もありました。

夕飯バイキングは90分の時間制で決められた時間内しか利用できません。食堂内も広くないので物凄く混みます。乳幼児を抱っこしている親御さんはこの時間内に満足な食事をとれるのか心配になるほど激混みな1時間半です。部屋から食堂まで長距離な事と急な階段(少し狭い)があるので、小さいお子さんや足の不自由な方は危ないかなと思いました。 朝食バイキングは特に時間制限はなく、夕飯より美味しく感じました。種類は定番のお味噌汁、だし巻き玉子やウィンナー等でしたが、だし汁で頂くお茶漬けはあまり見ないので新鮮でした。明太子も何気に嬉しいおかずです。パンをベルトコンベアで焼いてくれる機械は便利で珍しいですね。 フレンチトーストはきちんとフランスパンで作られているので、歯の弱い方には固く感じるかも知れません。

温泉メインで利用しましたが、お風呂は4つある浴槽のうち2つが温泉で、残りは沸かし湯だそうです。狭くはないですが、広くもありません。 雪降る中の露天風呂は気持ち良かったですが、上の柵？から滴り落ちる水が衛生的に少し気になりました。 シャワーは水圧が強くて良いのですが、体感10秒ほどで止まるので小さいお子さんを洗う親御さんは少し使いづらいと思います。洗い場にベビーチェアや小さいイスは常設されてました。髪質に合ったのか、大浴場のシャンプーとリンスは良い香りでサラサラになりました。 起きた後の朝風呂は最高に気持ち良かったです。

他の方がコメントしている通り、使えるコンセントは少ないですが、ポットや空気清浄機のコードを外せばドライヤーのコンセント含め最大5つ使えます。が、位置的に少し不便です。畳側と鏡台にあります。ベッドの枕側にはありません。そしていつもより充電時間がかかる気がします。謎。フリーWiFiが利用できるのは助かりました。 ベッド利用でも押し入れに布団が常備されているので、畳が固くて寝転びにくい時に利用できて便利です。

それと送迎バス利用の方はホテル周辺にコンビニ等がないので、事前に飲み物やお菓子、夜食を購入した方が絶対いいです。ホテル内の自販機は観光地価格で、売店も7時くらいに閉まります。セブンティーンアイスの自販機は個人的に嬉しかったです。小さい冷蔵庫が部屋にあります。ポットを利用する際の水は洗面台の水道です。 私は気にならないですが、壁が薄いので上下左右の騒音が気になる人は耳栓を持参した方がいいです。小さいお子さん連れのご家族が多いこともあってまあまあ会話が聞こえます。 逆に小さい子どもを連れての利用なら皆お互い様という事で気兼ねしなくていいのかなとも思います。その分、夜になるにつれてとても静かです。

建物自体は古いですが、お値段を考えると部屋は綺麗だし、食堂や大浴場の通路には喜びそうな広いキッズスペースもあり、階層によっては絵本も置かれています。目の前がおもちゃ王国なので小さいお子様連れにはとても良いと思います。娘がもっと小さい頃に連れて来れば良かったと思うほどです。湖を見渡せる眺めも素敵でした。

家から2回の乗り換えと送迎バスで2時間と少しかかるのと、娘がもう小さくない事を考えると今後また利用するかは悩みますが、小さいお子さんのいるご家庭は楽しめると思います。 宿泊者限定でおもちゃ王国の割引きチケットも販売していますし、おもちゃ王国は性別関係なく小さいお子さんが楽しめる場所です。 最初にも書いたバスの案内や施設の利用時間の説明不足など大人はともかく、きっとお子さんにとっては良い思い出になるのでは、と思います。

The latter has a wooden slide and others. Children can play there more than half an hour. It means you and your partner can soak yourselves in bathtubs in shifts.
