I do not recommend this campground. It's at the end of a 3 km gravel road that's in terrible shape, there's no running water, the toilet is smelly, there's no cell service, and the bugs are bad. The two good points are that it's free, and because it's such a terrible place to camp, you probably will not see many other campers so it'll be a quiet environment. There is another free campground not far north of here in Gunma Prefecture which is a far better choice. This campground is a practical place to stay if you plan on climbing the mountain the following day, or if you really need a free place to stay. 5/5(金)夕まずめ、到着。初の野営場だった。この日は曇り空。薄暗かったのでよく見渡せなかったが、たぶん、自分以外に利用者は3人。 夕暮れ時、テント内で読書していたのだが、人ではない息遣いが外から聞こえた。フッ！フッ！フッ！といった息遣い。とても不安な気持ちになるや否や、雨がぽつりぽつりと降り出した。ここは動物が出るのか、これから天候はどうなるのかを調べようとスマホを手に取るも、なんと圏外(ドコモ)。 暗闇の中、しばらく明かりを消し、先ほどの息遣いは何だったのか思推。テントのチャックを少し開けて様子を伺った。他の利用客が焚き火を片付けているのを確認。動物らしき影がいないようだった。 もう悩んでもしょうがないと決心し、テントから飛び出し、そっこうで荷物をセダンに詰め込み、ここをあとにした。 帰り道、出たあ。。。真っ暗闇の中、ヘッドライトで浮かび上がる黒いシルエット。鹿でも狸でもイノシシでもない、恐らく子熊。平常心を保ちながら、元来た道を辿って、一般道路へ。 あとでここは熊が出る事をWEBサイトで知った。 山奥のキャンプ場でテントではなくわざわざ車中泊にする人の気持ちがよく分かった。 黒いシルエットが本当に熊だったかどうかはわかりようが無いが、スマホ圏外かつ野営地である事をよく想定して訪れるべきだった、と思った。 熊さえでなけれ...
