Gave 4 star on location because the google map route takes you down a rather precarious narrow path, which was closed so I had to turn back around - pay attention to the warning on the website to take the long way round via Shingu if you are coming from Hongu!
Otherwise the location was perfect next to a beautiful waterfall. They also have tent saunas which you can use and then take a dip in the pool (I didn’t).
Paid ¥4000 for the ‘big’ site on the wooden platform next to the waterfall. I suppose the remote location meant it was available last minute (I booked on the day).
They have smaller sites on the grass on the other side of the pond but this platform site was perfect, near the toilets and showers (¥100/3min, nice hot water). Both sites have car parking spots nearby so no need to lug your stuff long distances. Also cabins on the other side of the road but seems a shame to be far away...
