Very nice spot, we are resident here and we enjoy the hot spring, beautifully receptionist one in particular coming and see my doggy lunetta in the car; very gentle. Lakes and hills, workers are super workers, golf 😲 WOW, restaurant wow, best Coffe in the planet but not espresso, no cappuccino and no 🥐 croissant? I don't know why, other wise I will love enjoy Breakfast over there every day.
The hotel director maybe no give attention to this small things like cappuccino and 🥐; and to spot need repaint, but this is a mirror of freedom place, imperfection is art, so I like even if I'm a psyco perfectionist! 😁
Never saw the rooms but I'm sure the villas have an incredible view. Japan style little different; no robot people around, and no stupid rules to respect, a place with a freedom touch, like western client like! I absolutely advise...
Read moreWe've stayed at this hidden gem many times. It's on the grounds of the Tarao Country Club. Complimentary transportation is provided from the Iga Ueno train station. You can stay in the main building, or there are very charming log cabins overlooking their par 3 golf course. Staff are super friendly and helpful. The evening food is amazing. Dinner alternates between Japanese and French. In the morning there's a nice breakfast buffet. The onsen facilities are well maintained with a rotenburo that overlooks the lake. Read moreWe went for the Hot Spring Communal Baths. I didn't go to the baths but my husband, did as well as our host. They have a salt scrub that he absolutely went crazy about. Very modern design with beautiful views. ||I think it's more a Japanese travel thing. Didn't see any other Americans or Europeans. There is a golf course next door. Our hotel was in Kyoto proper so we don't know about the hotel itself. It seemed very clean and the staff were very hospitable. It's nice to go in the Fall when the leaves are all turning colors. ...
