Lakeside Yamanoie — Hotel in Kosaka

I struggle for weeks if I should post a comment about this place as it is such a wonderful place and I want to keep it for myself! However I feel obliged to write a compliment about this lovely lodging.||||Before I write about the good things, here's the bad points. It is difficult to get to this place by public transport. You really need a car to get there even though it is very easy to find it as it is right by the lakeside. It is certainly outdated. I would think that the buildings were probably built 30 or more years ago. However everything works and it is clean and tidy. Be warned! There's no wifi or internet. It may be on the remote side of the lake and even I had a Docomo Data Sim, I could not get any reception there. For those who cannot live without internet, this is certainly not the place. There's were a lot of stink bugs when I stayed there. The bugs normally will not come to you and would only fly around the lights. However if you are afraid of insects, then stay away from this kind of holiday house. If you think you can survive the above, you can then continue reading below. ||||I stayed during the autumn leave period, last week of Oct. It is probably the busiest time of the year. There were not a lot of choices and most hotels were very expensive. This semi we stayed can accommodate up to 6 people and it only cost us around US$120 which should be at least less than half, if not a few times than other hotels around the lake. It is self contained and has a well equipped kitchen. It is two levels, lounge, kitchen, toilet and bathroom on ground level. The Japanese sleeping area on top.||||The lodge is right by the lake which means you just cross the road and you are by the lake. It faces east which means you can watch the sun rise. The view was so peaceful and tranquil. With the first sun rise, the whole area turned to golden yellow. One of the best sunrise I've seen.||||I think the place is run by a Japanese couple. They hardly speak any English but there should not be any problem for you to check in and out. ||||This is certainly not for those looking for 5 stars accommodation but for those who like to live close to nature, you...

2025/06/27(金) 素敵。絶対に秘密にしておきたい。自分の誕生日を祝いに来ました。湖が怖い系なのに贅沢なまでに美しい古代の樹海に囲まれとても神秘的です。この辺の野生の自然には本当に圧倒されます。

あまりにも素敵なロケーションなので滞在を延長したのですが、電話応対をして下さったオーナーさんは爽やかな方で当方の予定変更にも速やかに対応してくださいました。たぶんオーナー•チェンジがあったのでしょうね。車を飛ばせば酸ヶ湯にも玉川にも行けるのも楽しかったです。(まぁちょっと遠いですけど可能です)。日帰りで佳い温泉が周囲に色々あるのでとても楽しい。

湖と街を繋ぐ山道は所々細くなっているにも関わらずＪＲの大型バスがすれ違う事があり見通しの悪いウネリでは充分に減速を行い「かもしれないかもしれない」と疑って通行した方がいいと思います。車両によってはかなり真ん中に寄って通行して来ます。私も気をつけます。街灯はありませんが夜の方がむしろ対向車のヘッドライトが目安になるので危なくない位です。昼の方が怖いです。

他の方達のコメントを読むとカメムシさん達に言及しておられるものが多いですが東北や長野以北を旅行するとかなりの高級旅館でもカメムシ被害に遭います。常識を調整しないと宿泊施設のせいになってしまうかも？少しは責任もあると思いますがたぶんどうにもならないのだと思います。自然て怖いですね。わたしも今年その時期に玉川温泉にちょっとだけ滞在したのですがたった３日で「わたしはカメムシの餌に違いない」と深く感じ入りました。カメムシさん達は特有の匂いを発していてわたしはそれをまさかカメムシの匂いと気がつく事ができず「変な匂いがする」と苦しみ続けました。夜は嫌で嫌で吐き気がして眠れない程でした。本当に泣く程嫌でした。カメムシさん達にポジティブなポジションで迎撃を出来ない方達はカメムシ•シーズンには十和田八幡平旅行をお控えになる事をお勧め致します。今６月下旬ですがこの山の家にも１匹たりともカメムシさん達は居ませんでした。ただ思いもかけない隙間とかにカメムシさん達の遺骸がごっそりと溜まっていた事は一度だけあったのでシーズン中の被害の壮絶さに震撼と致しました。宿泊施設のほうでも駆除し切れないのでしょう。
