Spent 5 nights here on a Marriott point redemption as a Lifetime Titanium member. Great value on points. The location can't be beat - our room faced the Hashiguiiwa Rocks. When people came at 6 am to find parking and watch the sunrise, all I had to do was look out my window.
We arrived at the Kushimoto Station and walked to rent a car at Toyota Rent a Car for 5 days. During our time there, we drove north to explore other areas like Hongui Taisha, Hayatama Taisha, Kamikura Shrine, Seiganto ji. Everything was around an hour's or less than an hour's drive and it was pretty easy without tolls. Every day we drove out to explore the area. Parking is free at the hotel and there was plenty of parking.
The Fairfield does not have a restaurant on site. However, they will give you a list of restaurants around the area. We ate dinner at a couple of places you can easily walk to.
Housekeeping will come daily to replace towels and take out the trash but they only do a deeper clean every 3rd day (like replace the sheets). They are also supposed to clean the floors every 3rd day but the floors felt a little dusty. The bed was comfy and we had good sleeps. They provided bottled water daily. There is also a mini fridge and safe in the room. The room is a good size and we had no problems walking around. I also enjoyed the bench next to the window to enjoy views of the rocks.
Overall a great stay and I...
Read moreThe hotel is conveniently located right behind the Hashiguiiwa Rocks. Upon entering, the vibe, scent, and lighting create a welcoming atmosphere, complemented by friendly staff. The design is minimal yet cozy, with a keen attention to detail; every spot is perfect for photography with great lighting. There's also a snack bar offering unlimited coffee and tea during your stay—definitely a highlight, as their coffee is excellent. The common area is situated in a spacious and comfortable lobby. If you have some time, be sure to grab a coffee from the snack bar and relax in the lobby; it's definitely a great place to recharge. Our room matched the photos perfectly, featuring a Scandinavian design that felt very cozy. The space was ample for two people with two large pieces of luggage. The bed was incredibly comfortable, contributing to a quiet overall environment that allowed us to enjoy a great night's sleep. We opted for a room with a sea view, and the scenery was breathtaking as soon as we entered. Kushimoto is known as one of the top 100 sunrise spots, but unfortunately, the morning was shrouded in heavy clouds, preventing us from witnessing...
Read moreAlthough you pay more for the ocean view room and expect to get a view for the scene of rocks, but they only give you lower floor 3/F. Moreover, the type of window is the wire mesh glass that wire embedded in the glass (can't take a good photo). I found that only in lower floors. I complained while I check in and they just said Busy Busy.... When I requested to change to higher floor, they said higher floor only for Marriott higher members. Totally, I requested to 3 staffs but still refuse to me. I feel so disappointed I drove so many hours to there and coming from other country, I pay for a ocean view room fee but got this kind of view. They are not willing to help me to change because I found they still have Twins room available in agoda.
Besides, there are no facilities in this hotel. No onsen / spa, No bathtub in room. It is Not worth the price. I paid ¥35,090...
