This was the best experience I have ever had!

The best things about this stay:

Outstanding customer service - the best care I’ve ever had during any stay. Helpful and kind.

Our host picked us up from the station, which we were very grateful for because we were initially worried about coordinating the travel. We were happy to see that there was an option while booking to organize a pick-up and drop-off service. He said it was a new service, and I want to express that it was very helpful! We appreciated it a lot.

Beautiful Area - the landscape is famous for good reason. The views from the room are immaculate! Our host stopped along the drive to let us see the beautiful fall colors as well.

Abundant Amenities - the campsite is far from any stores, but the site has most items you will need should you have forgotten anything (toothbrushes, laundry bags, toiletries, some drinks, etc.) I do recommend getting the meal plan, but if you don’t, you need to pick up food before you head up the mountain. There is also a switch that you can rent games for. This was a pleasant surprise for us, and was nice to wind down with before bed.

There is a special link on the website for foreigner bookings. Otherwise, you won’t be able to book.

If you request a pick-up from the station, schedule your train well ahead of time! We thought an hour early was enough, but significant train delays led to us being very late for our pick up.

Note that if you don’t get Japanese SIM card that specifically allows for calls, you will have to communicate changes either through their Instagram or by calling on a pay phone.

Like I said before, I recommend getting the meal plan - you’ll likely end up spending close to the price anyway on groceries. Either way, I recommend setting aside time to go to a grocery store to get other snacks and drinks you would like! Like ingredients for s’mores!

There is amazing tea and coffee in the room. Please try it!

Also - one day isn’t enough - stay for as long as you can! It’s worth it. I miss...

This was the absolute highlight of my trip! The staff came and picked us up from Marutamachi Station Exit 6 and even took us to the grocery store for food that night. My man even went into the grocery store and helped us find groceries that would go with the BBQ. We also stopped to enjoy a beautiful view of leaves changing color. The entire staff was extremely friendly! A little but of google translate, but otherwise, talking was not difficult at all. Then it was a beautiful hour drive to see the scenic views of rual kyoto! And the room was absolutely amazing! Beautiful sounds from the lake! Waking up to the amazing sunset! And taking a bath with the door open to embrace nature!!!! It's completely private, and the family was able to play Mario carts rented put by the staff and watch movies on the built-in projector until we fell asleep. We were also given a ride back to kyoto station at request.

As an American, this level of customer service was like no other!

Also, Americans' easiest way to book is that once you switch the language to English, there's like an ad ribbon that says "exulsively for foreign visitors, click here." Do that one.

I usually don't write long reviews, but I can not stress how amazing this...

県外勢からするとここが京都市内？ポツンと一軒家に行くのかな？とビックリするくらいの山道の先にありました(運転がよほど不得手でなければ大丈夫な程度です)。その分自然に恵まれた素晴らしいロケーションです。山中の川沿いで程よく高台になっており、室内の壁一面の窓から見える景色が最高。川音も聞こえてほんとに自然の中にいるんだなあと実感できます。外に出て河原のそばで焚き火もできるよう準備されていました。 オプションのテントサウナは、到着するとプライベートデッキに設置してあり、薪ストーブに火をおこして温めるようになっていました。お風呂屋さんのサウナしか入った事がなくネットで調べて水着やサウナハットを準備し寒さ対策などもかなり心配していましたが、うっすら汗をかき外に出ると外気が心地よく、またテントサウナに入って汗をかいてと楽しめました。人目を気にせず入れたのも特別な体験という感じがしました。 施設はほとんどリゾートホテルかなと思うくらいの綺麗さ快適さです。朝夕食事付プランにしましたが、全ての食材が用意されており自分で調理する形態で、そこにホテルではないグランピングらしさがあります。とはいえ、火を扱うのはBBQグリルに炭火をおこすだけ。炊飯は用意されている土鍋に着火剤で失敗なく炊けるし、食材はカット済みでそれぞれ蒸し器具など準備されており、マニュアルを見ながら用意すればほとんどのものが20〜30分ほどで完成します。通常のキャンプだとなかなかこう手際良く品数を揃えて食事することは出来ないので、少し手間をかける楽しみというレベルでそこも私たちには程よかったです。アウトドア調理得意な方なら食材持ち込みするのもいいと思います。非日常を極めたいなら豪華食材を堪能できる食事付きはおすすめできると思います。 アウトドアダイニングはこの時期風が入らないよう透明のもので囲ってあり、こたつとホットカーペットも設置されていて、ほんとの屋外よりは快適に過ごせるようになっています。フリースや厚手の靴下も持って行ったので食事の用意と食べる間くらいの時間なら寒い思いをすることはありませんでした。お風呂もお湯が張ってある状態で湯温が保たれており、サウナ前後やちょっと温まりた...
