Booked this place from Agoda. Some important properties info is in images which was placed at the end of photos list. Therefore, be careful to scroll to the end & read it first.

Facility: It's a beautiful ordinary Japanese inn with nice tatami mat as seeing from provided picture. It's a bit old but that's exactly why I chose this place. You would have to pay extra for anything else (bath towel, heater...). In spite of that, its condition is improving (home appliances, room, etc.). I appreciate her effort to open it more guests.

Location: I need to catch bus to Hirayu Onsen before going to Kamikochi. Therefore, the location is not really that convenience since you have to walk 1.4km to Shin-Shimashima sta. The road is being repaired so you should expect some degree of difficulty travelling there on foot or card. Besides, because the check-in time is a bit late (19:30), I had to walk in the dark (not much street light) + it was raining back then + the cold of late winter night still lingering - quite a unique experience for someone from a hot region like Vietnam. Don't worry, Japan is a safe country in general anyway

Staff: The host is extremely warm & friendly. She tried practicing her English in order to speak with foreign guests. She even gave me additional bath towel when I complained the given one is a bit small

Overall: 5/5 for everything. Would definitely come back again to spend more time exploring the...

We were stranded in Sinshimashima because we were too late for the bus to kamikochi. Luckily we could still sleep here, and the host was very nice and helpful, and even bought us tickets for the bus the next day. Also the accomodation is very neat and good....
