We stayed one night at the hotel. The facilities and the food were generally okay. We enjoyed the garden and fall colors. However the service was abnormally bad.
The room was not clean to start with. There were stains everywhere on the tatami and the toilet had suspicious traits as well.
No one would help you with your luggages in the parking lot either. The staff literally glanced at me with my two suitcases and walked away.
The worst of all was that they failed to charge us upon checking out, and then shot an email to us announcing that they had called the police. The timing was particularly bad as we had to fly from Okayama to Tokyo and then to San Francisco the day we checked out. Throughout the communication, there was no help offered and they wouldn’t do any type of online payment. Instead, they simply kept on urging us to wire the money immediately, and we had to spend the last hour at the Narita airport running around to find out how to wire money using the foreign cards. We also had to pay extra for the processing fee, and there was no apology whatsoever. After we told them that we managed to send the money over, the only reply we got was that they had removed the case from the police.
So that’s us, left angry and exhausted after the stay. I would definitely not recommend the...

One of the best vegetarian meals I've had in Japan. ||The staff here are extremely friendly and accommodating. They tried to speak English even though I speak Japanese so I think foreign visitors can stay here with the comfort of knowing the staff can use English. ||I can't give it the full five star rating however as the thin walls were a bit of an issue. I usually sleep very soundly but I didn't have the best night's sleep waking up to the sound of doors sliding and closing.
