Rakuten STAY VILLA 阿蘇黒川 — Hotel in Minamioguni

Loved staying here with my toddler, baby, and husband. Clean, great amenities, scenery. As other reviews have stated, the road to this location is truly unsafe. So much so I feel morally obligated to post these maps, noting a safer way to get there. Likely google maps will bring you the red route. However please drive the blue route that connects to the main roads. It looks like a much longer way but it really isn’t much longer, the drive is beautiful, and you will be safe. Even on this blue route, I wouldn’t dare drive at night or bad conditions. Bring your food, spices, cooking oil. Lovely place to stay at with a group of friends/family and we had a pretty easy time finding it via Google maps. The roads leading to it are pretty narrow and bendy though so we were driving slowly to be careful. Definitely recommend bringing food to cook for dinner because once the sun sets, I’d imagine that driving out to dinner in the dark but be a little tricky

The villa was very tastefully designed and it was great that there were 2 sinks and a washing machine/dryer too. The only thing was that the tub had some cracks/peeling, probably due to wear and tear

Make sure to keep the doors closed though because we saw quite a few insects flying...

From already travelled to another rakuten villa, I came with high expectation. I can definitely say that the villa is on par with the other ones. It has a very big living space, very well cleaned, newly built, plenty of equipments and amenities. I believe what stands out the most is the private Onsen and sauna, which is not offered in many places.Travelers would want to travel here when there is day light, I went during the night and it was pitch black, the road is narrow, windy and uphill which required high level of cautiousness.Overall a highly recommend this place when travelling to...
