Ikazawa Onsen Yumotokan — Hotel in Minamiuonuma

We have been coming here for day trip to the onsen for over 10 years, but this is the first time staying overnight!

We truly loved it! The room was spacious, very modern and nice. There were many amenities.

The big bath has both indoor and outdoor areas and has time for men (4PM-7PM) for women (7PM-10PM) and mixed bathing (10PM to midnight and from (6AM to 4PM). There are also indoor separate baths for men and women.

It was nice to go for a nice walk by the rice fields before dinner and then after dinner and relaxation time go to enjoy the baths.

Men were polite, except for those who sit next to the women washing area. It is mixed bathing, but the washing areas for men and women are separated by the wall.

MEN: Be polite and give the ladies space to wash themselves by not sitting and bathing right next to where women wash!!! Instead you can enjoy mixed bathing in the outdoor area!

We truly love this place and we are definitely staying here and visiting...

The local breakfast was very good, so is their dinner option in their restaurant. The onsen is also great, in particular in winter when it is snowing while staying outside in the steamy hot water. The staff is very friendly, polite and helpful, and made us feel very comfortable throughout our entire stay. They even helped us arrange transportation, because we could not rent a car anymore due to high demand.
