THE KEY HIGHLAND NASU — Hotel in Nasu

This is a wonderful hotel. Located in the mountain woods in Nasu, the setting is very refreshing. The design of the hotel allows you to always feel that you are surrounded by the trees and forest.||The building and complex are very new and beautiful. The dining area is very comfortable and has a mountain lodge feel to it. They had marshmallow roasting for the kids before dinner time. The drinks area is open all the time and you are welcome to go in and sit down almost anytime. My early morning coffee was great on veranda. The dinner and breakfast buffets are both wonderful. Lots of selection and really good food. The drinks are included and self-serve, lots of selection as well. This is a very well-run dining room and kitchen with excellent staff members.||The pool is very nice. Not big, however it was really fun for the kids and relaxing for the adults. Half the pool is heated for a spa experience, and the other half is for swimming and fooling around. The public bath is connected to this pool area though the changing rooms. Very nice public baths and sauna. Clean place and relaxing place.||The rooms are also nice. Spacious and clean, with a nice modern and relaxing feel.||The staff are quite friendly here, especially the staff of the dining area.||This is a classy and upscale hotel, yet most certainly it is a family friendly hotel. Lots of children were there and it was a fun and lively place. We felt fantastic here.||We highly recommend this hotel. Great place to stay for fun and relax and to enjoy...

●外観、玄関●|　遠目には山小屋風ですが玄関を入った途端にモダンな雰囲気。ソファ類も|センス良く、カーペットのロビーからガラス越しに望める吹き抜け構造の|プール、天井が高くて天窓にもなっていて、大型ホテルにありがちな、|だだっ広くて無機質なスペース感は皆無です。ロビーだけでも良い居心地。|スタッフの方々の対応もフレンドリーかつ丁寧です。||●建屋内●|　３Fが玄関＆ロビーになっていて、下に降りるタイプの階層。宿泊建屋は|円弧状になっていて、そこに向かう２本の渡り廊下は・・何かに似てると|思ったら、空港にあるボーディングブリッジ？でも側面はもっと広いガラ|面で、見える景色は、恐らく建てた当時の？見通しの良い林が広がるので、|ちょっとした樹上回廊みたいなムードもあります。なお、このブリッジは|上から見るとハの字に配されていて宿泊建屋の３階に接続しているので、|レストラン、ロビー、プール、お風呂への移動のしやすさに貢献している|気がします。小さなペンションや大型ホテルには無い、ミドルサイズなら|ではの魅力です。||●駐車場●|　基本的には玄関から50メートルほどの木立の中にちゃんとした駐車場に|止めることが出来ます。ナンバーを見ると都内から来ている人が意外に|多くて、高級車もちょいちょい見かけるので客層がここでなんとなく|知れて安心します。ただ最近はレンタカーも見かけるようになりました。|確かに、新幹線とレンタカーを使えば海外の人にも便利でしょうね。|　余談ですが那須塩原駅は皇室が利用されることでも有名で、以前東京|から来る娘を迎えにいくときに、たまたま令和天皇がいらっしゃるタイ|ミングと合ってしまい、駅から沿道まで、すごい数のお巡りさんがいて|驚いたことがあります。||●レストラン●|　これが目的の一つで、まずはチェックイン時からすでに食べれる|ソフトクリームをセルフでクネクネ（何度やっても下手くそ）。すぐに|家内とプールで少し泳ぎ、その後、二手に分かれて家内はインフィ|ニティ風呂（午後は女湯になる）、私はもう少し泳いだ後、まだ静か|なラウンジ然としたレストランで、アルコール＆読書＆ウトウト。|しばらくして合流する頃に、マシュマロ焼きの時間になります。|そのまま暖炉寄りでゆっくりしていると、徐々に他の客で賑やかに。|席の確認後（席はスタッフが各組に確認にきて確定してくれます）|夕飯タイムは小洒落た前菜を始め、サラダ、ステーキやビーフシチュー、|ご飯類など。。和洋のお酒飲み放題、デザートも美味しく頂いてます。|平らげたお皿はテーブル端に置いておけば都度、スタッフの方が速や|かに片づけてくれます。ステーキは最初並ぶのですが、ほぼ行きわた|った19時くらいもねらい目で（ベテランの方？はこの辺りでレストラン|に来ることも）、ゆっくりと好みに合わせて焼いてくれそう。この|時間帯になるともう皆さんは飲み＆お喋りに走っているし、小さな|お子さんがいる方は部屋に戻るので、大人の時間帯に。|　なお、大型ホテルやコテージタイプ等、離れのあるホテルに出来ない|のが、既述の部屋～レストランへのアクセスの良さ！食べ終わっても|飲み物を蓋つき容器に入れて部屋でゆっくり飲めますし、23時まで|開いているので、何度もレストランに歩いていっての補充が超簡単。|21時過ぎくらいになるとレストランは静かなラウンジに変わって|ゆっくりも出来るし、大型リゾートホテルの賑わいとペンションの|アットホームさを併せ持つのが魅力です。|　他の方も書いてましたが、朝食もいいです。洋食・和食の二刀流で、|目いっぱい食べてしまいます（昼食不要）。普段は絶対にやらない、|食後のうたた寝で部屋で過ごし（これがまた気持ちいい）、10時前に|なり帰り支度をしたら再度レストランでソフトクリーム絞りを楽しん|でチェックアウトがシーケンスになっています。|　レストランとは関係ありませんが、チェックアウト時の玄関の賑わいは、|スタッフも揃って見送ってくれて、ここはペンション的なアットホーム|感があります。|　帰路途中にある那須チーズガーデンやGOOD NEWS...

Classy boutique hotel with an all-inclusive style. The rooms are NICE with high ceilings and a tatami room in addition to the beds. Best of both worlds. Pay at check-in. No additional costs. You can eat and drink to your heart’s desire. Staff are attentive without being overbearing. Food was delicious and loved how they didn’t overdo it by trying to do too many types of cuisines (like some hotel buffets do which crowds the experience). Table tennis on the bottom floor. Bike rentals available. Toasting marshmallows at the fire pit. Such a cute idea. I wish they did it...
