Osoushi Onsen — Hotel in Shintoku

This is not a luxurious type of onsen. But it has the basic facilities that are required of a Japanese onsen. Its environment is very tranquil and relaxing.The onsen water makes one's skin silky smooth. I must say it is one of the best that I have ever experienced before. The meals are of very high standard both in terms of quality and quantity. Most if not all of the dishes were homemade and the sashimi were very fresh. The onsen owner couple showed us great hospitality and even their dog is cute and friendly. We have had a wonderful and indeed most enjoyable time there. We missed their dog a lot and if everything goes right we would go back in autumn when we can enjoy the beautiful red leaves...

You have to drive through a 7 km dangerous mountain road to reach here. There's no cellular network available, only slow free public WiFi. The building is old. Great onsen and reception. The onsen is run by an aged couple, who shown great hospitality that makes me feel like family. The food is nice n the hot spring water is in good quality, smooth as silk! And……the Akita Inu Ken is cute n friendly. I'm planning for next visit in autumn...
