I would like foreigners to know that we (my parents, my husband who is American, and me who is Japanese) had a very good experience at one of these places in Suzu, called Notoji-so.||||The look and inside of the building is of no taste to me, like a school or a hospital built in 1960's, but I was not disappointed since I had talked to the people there and had been impressed by the professional and polite responses. As expected, the front desk staff were all kind and helpful. ||||The rooms were very clean, with a nice terrace directly facing the sea and the Mitsukejima Island (a huge rock protruding on the surface), and you don't even touch the lid or seat to open your toilet in your bathroom. The toilet just "senses" the nearing of your hand. The evening walk along the small beach was relaxing. We really appreciate that they had a laundomat and dryer on the second floor, too.||||As always with Japan's onsen facilities, the fee includes dinner, hot spring bathing experience and breakfast. The food there was excellent. Rice, miso soup, broiled fish, tofu, fish cooked n broth, tempura, sashimi, pickles, all common onsen meal ingredients but each was very well prepared and delicious!||||The bath was spacious, clean, and had a wonderful view. You can see the Mitsukejima Rock in the sea as you are in the hot bath, indoor or outdoor. The next morning, at 5:30AM, I took another bath and saw the rising sun from the big bath tub!||||If I ever have an opportunity to go to Suzu I would defintely like to stay at...

Notojiso is located at the tip of the Noto Peninsula, and its greatest attraction is its location with a panoramic view of Mitsukejima Island. It can be said that staying at Notojiso is a privilege as there are no other hotels or inns in the vicinity. Surrounded by beautiful nature, you can spend your time in a quiet and calm atmosphere. The inn is right in front of the sea, and there is a promenade, so it is also recommended for a stroll. I stayed in a room with a private onsen. It was very clean and comfortable. From the balcony, you can enjoy a spectacular view of Mitsukejima Island and the vast ocean, and the sunset was especially breathtaking. The time spent gazing at the superb view while taking a bath in the room was a blissful experience.
The onsen has an open-air bath and an indoor bath, and you can take a bath while looking at Mitsukejima Island from the open-air bath. The spring quality is a sodium chloride spring, which is said to be effective for neuralgia, muscle pain, etc. The open-air bath had a sense of openness, and the indoor bath was also spacious, allowing me to enjoy the hot springs slowly. The sauna is also great.
The dinner was a kaiseki meal using plenty of local ingredients, and I was able to fully enjoy the seafood of Noto. In particular, the dishes using fresh seafood were exquisite. The meat was also of high quality with a good amount of marbling.
The staff were kind and courteous, and I had a pleasant stay. Everything I needed was readily available, and I didn't feel any inconvenience at all.
Notojiso was very satisfying as an inn where you can enjoy the spectacular view of Mitsukejima Island, hot springs, and delicious cuisine at a reasonable price. It is recommended for those who want to spend a relaxing time in a calm atmosphere without any glitz. Due to the overlapping effects of the earthquake, Mitsukejima Island has collapsed and become a terrible sight, but I will definitely visit again...
Read moreI stayed at a very spacious room facing the sea enjoying the specially lower price for it because of the sound under the public bathroom but actually I did not hear anything.|Mitsukejima is so close so it may be wise to stay at a regular room. You can see Mitsukejima from the public bathroom which was very good specially the one with open air bathtoom. It would be better to stay overnight as you can enjoy both sunrise and sunset. The dinner was just so so even though the number of dishes were many. What I did not like most was that a frontman did not smile and did not say a word when I returned the room key on chekingin out saying that there would be no balace...
