Look no further if you want a warm, cozy atmosphere, only a few steps away from the beach. The decor is one of fine simplicity, with an authentic homey touch.
The friendly managers - a mixed Japanese/German couple - will go out of their way to cater to your particular (peculiar?) tastes and wishes. As a vegetarian, I was given a special treatment with home-made dishes - although I could have chosen yummy pizzas and pasta from the regular menu.
Both are seasoned travellers, which is an asset when accommodating guests from all walks of life: they deal with competence and patience with the questions you may have, notably regarding the things to do and sights to see on the island.

Read moreThe guesthouse is in a perfect location. Directly next to the beach with a wonderfull view on the Seto-Inland-Sea you can enjoy a cool drink or fantastic food. The chef put a lot of effort to serve a large variety of dishes with as many local ingredients from Megijima as possible. An unexpected mix of different cuisines from Europe, sometimes freshly baked german bread included. Certainly recommended.
The staff can speak Japanese, English and German and are very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are quite basic, but clean and with shared showers/toilet. You can also relax on the roof of the guesthouse. Best place to stay with a warm and cozy atmosphere....
