Taishikan — Hotel in Tochigi

Taishikan is the best ryokan I have stayed at. If you’re looking for a combination of traditional Japanese ryokan, service, food, nature, onsen, this is the one! Compared to others we’ve stayed out, this is definitely a more luxurious and traditional ryokan. The public onsen is also a must try.

We came for one night and stayed in 池の間. It’s the only room with a private garden open air bath and it’s the best. The room was clean. It had very nice touches and decor, a huge tv, and an amazing access to the garden right in your room.

This ryokan was not very touristic. We loved that it wasn’t busy.

From Tokyo, it took us about 2.5 hrs by public transport but well worth the planning . There’s only one bus that goes from Tochigi station to the ryokan and it only operates 2-3 times. Plan accordingly!

Thank you so much to the staff at Taishikan for making our stay so perfect. I’m already talking about coming back with my parents and siblings.

Just stayed at this wonderful spot in Tochigi prefecture for two nights. Food was delicious, the service was friendly and impeccable, and the baths were amazing. We spent one of our days walking around the neighboring area where people grow all sorts of crops next to the beautiful mountains nearby. The area is so quiet that it felt like we were the only people in the whole area!

Definitely a hidden gem for foreign tourists like us, and would highly recommend...

里山の風景が広がる中の、全棟離れの客室のお宿です(夕食は部屋食)。|宿のHPによると、先代が創設した「聖徳太子神社」も併設していて、神社のあるパワースポットの宿としても有名との事です。|とても広い駐車場があるので、参詣や日帰り温泉のお客さんも沢山来るのではと思います。|離れの部屋の宿に泊まった事は多分初めてと思います。|離れの棟は、和室が二部屋で布団はすでに敷かれてました。広々した部屋で宿からは庭と山々が見渡せます。|テーブルこたつでほっこりしました。|テレビではユーチューブが見れて、せっかく里山の宿に来たのに、つれあいはユーチューブ三昧してました。|部屋の鍵は二本あり、便利でした。|洗面エリアはリニューアルされており、とてもキレイです。トイレの音が水の流れる音で聞こえなくなるとか、トイレットペーパーがいい香りがするとか、細かい心使いがありました。|温泉については、お風呂の中に説明がありました。|「太子霊鉱泉の湧出地は、栃木県柏倉の山林の中腹にあり、昔から獅子の水呑み場として有名でした。獅子をはじめ山の動物達が良好になるために十里四方の動物達が集まって、霊水を呑んだと言われています。」|お風呂の内湯の一つの源泉風呂の鉱泉の色は、少しグレイで泥湯のような感じでした。|源泉は効能がありそうなので、何回も入りました。|露天風呂や内湯の温泉の色は透明でした。露天風呂は岩風呂です。|夕食は離れの部屋で部屋食なので、まとめて全て持ってくるのかなと思っていましたが、何度もできたての品を運んでくれました。|前菜も湯葉や豆乳やチーズなどで、栃木産の鮎の一夜干しは頭から食べられて、美味でした。|台のものキノコ鍋はキノコがシャキシャキしてて、またおしのぎの蕎麦がきは栃木県産の新そば粉のそばがきで、カラッと揚げてあり、中はしっとりの味でした。|焼き物のステーキはミディアムレアで、とてよ柔らかくオリジナルのステーキソースで美味しく食べました。|ご飯はなく、太子手打ちの新蕎麦で、またデザートの自家製抹茶プリンは甘すぎずで、デザートまで完食しました。|またお夜食として、お稲荷さんを後から持ってきてくれました。|正にパーフェクトな夕食でした。|翌朝、ロビーラウンジが朝食会場になっていました。鯉がいる池と聖徳太子神社が紅葉の山の上に見え、いい景色です。|朝食は品数か多く、サラダはドレッシングが美味で、豆乳からの豆腐は岩塩で食べました。とろろは山芋で弾力がありました。|食後のコーヒーもあり、熱々のコーヒーだったので、良かったです。二杯飲んでしまいました。|支払いは現地払いでした。栃木市でペイペイ20%ポイント還元を実施してたので、二人でペイペイ割り勘払いをしました。|栃木県栃木市に泊まったのは初めてでしたが、里山...
