My husband and I, along with two friends, stayed at the hotel for one night after a three-day hike on Kumano-Kodo. We started in Wakayama Prefecture and ended in Nara Prefecture, where "Sansui" is located. After we got off the trail, we were going to take the local bus to the hotel. We contacted the hotel from the bus stop to find out how far they were. They graciously sent us a car to the bus stop and transported us to the hotel. The hotel staff were very friendly and professional. We were assisted by a staff member named "Ryoji Tatewaki," who was bilingual and very personable. We absolutely enjoyed his company. The Japanese-style hotel room was very clean with beautiful views from the windows. We had a room with a private bath tub filled with natural "Onsen (hot springs)" water. We enjoyed taking a bath looking at the mountain and feeling the fresh air. It was very comforting especially after a long hike. And retrospect that was not a bad thing. ||We had a spacious room with our own hot spring tub. The food was lovely and plentiful. The service was excellent, unobtrusive but always helpful. We were offered pick up from the bus station and rides to the starting points for a day hike and our eventual walk to Hongu.||Hot spring facilities are beautiful, with two private baths and men's and women's in and outdoor baths available.||The place is remote and quiet, practically no noisy international tourists, great to relax.
