The correct, full name of this establishment is Pacific Onsen Hotel Seiriyuen ( パシフィック温泉ホテル・清龍園 ). It is located 10kms along Route 67 from the turning off route 5 on the pacific coast of Hokkaido between Oshamambe and Esan. I approached by bicycle and the 10km ride inland from the coast along R67 was delightful. The road follows a river through the valley with rice, potato and open fields on either side... beautiful Hokkaido countryside.||||I came to stay here because I wanted to stay longer in the peaceful area of Kaminoyu, but my first choice - Ginkonyu (an entirely different experience and very well worth a stay) - was full for more than on night.||||Pacific Onsen Hotel Seiriyuen is very much a 'working onsen' with many visits from local people during the day. I would heartily recommend a stay here if you are in the area, especially if you wish to stay at Ginkonyu and dates are limited.||||One thing to bear in mind is that the area of Kaminoyu is nothing more than a few houses by the road or river. There are no amenities outside of the hotel, which has a restaurant and vending machines. If you need anything else, you'd need to stock up at the convenience stores located at the...
Read moreBeautiful onsen hotel in a beautiful area. Immensely kind staff. The seasonal dinner meal was delicious and filling, full of locally sourced ingredients and deftly prepared. Things I normally don't like to eat, I found delicious here. The rooms are spacious with a comfortable homey feeling, with bedding prepared and our room had a full pitcher of cool water in the fridge when we arrived. You can find shampoo and towels in the room to take to the onsen baths. The baths are hot (in a good way)! They are easy to acclimate to, and soothing on cold days. There are three indoor baths and one large outdoor one. Scenic...
