Stayed here for a couple of nights with my wife in March 2013. The ryokan is about 20 minutes drive from Yonezawa station, and if you come in the snowy season give yourself extra time: roads are narrow and hard to find. ||||The good||Stylish, comfortable building||Impeccable service||Intimate feel: only seven rooms||Two private baths as well as the communal men and women's baths||Incredible food (if you like beef)||||The bad||The heating isn't ideal (AC based)||Very limited dining and breakfast times 18:30-19:00, 8:30-9:00||A little pricey||*the cheapest room (Azuma) is very noisy, as all the AC units for the building are on the wall outside -avoid if possible||Trains run by nearby (only about one an hour)||||Overall||This is a great, relaxing ryokan with fantastic food -well worth seeking out as long as you avoid the noisy room. ||||Turn up as early as possible and enjoy...

Only had a couple of nights here but everything was absolutely fantastic!||The location is beautiful and extremely peaceful if you're looking to get away from a busy city.||The onsens are lovely and clean, with great facilities and a beautiful view.||The food.......wow......some of the best food I've eaten in Japan in a quiet and smart restaurant that's very pleasant to be in. The beef is absolutely outstanding and the varieties of styles of cooking is very impressive and at an extremely high standard.||All of the staff were extremely helpful and made the stay very special.......definitely would like...
