Takanoyu Onsen — Hotel in Yuzawa

A male went into the changing room when its female only time. I reported the situation to the owner immediately but he told me it was probably a mistake the male accidentally made. They also told me that me being shock is maybe just a cultural thing cuz we don’t have mix-gender hot springs where I came from. They never really asked him what happened before I melt down and my mom asked them to angrily. After that, they told me it’s probably because he still thinks it’s a mix-gendered hot spring cuz thats what it was 19 years ago. But the male knows for sure that it’s a female only time and space. They kept defending him and want me to let it go. I didn’t let it go and they helped us called the police. After that the police took care of the situation. I’ll say if you care about your privacy and want to have a safe and secure experience, this is maybe not a good place for you. They’ll tell you it’s probably just an accident and want you to let it go when the other person violates your privacy. Other than that, the hot springs, the food, and the room are pretty nice. A great old Onsen tucked into the hills near Yuzawa. I hesitate to call it rundown - more like it's well-lived-in, with a charm I enjoyed. 2024.6月宿泊。 旅館の手前の道がかなり狭いので、大きい車で行く人は注意が必要。 フロント左側にかわいい看板犬がいる。 ロビーに出ないよう柵があり、ゲージもあるので苦手な人でも大丈夫かと。

Wi-fiはあるがフロント付近でのみ使用可能。自分でポケットwi-fiを持参したが電波は無かった。 Docomo回線のスマホを持っていて電波が2つ程立った。他のキャリアは電波が入るか不明。 チェックイン後にフロント右側にある浴衣と歯ブラシを取る。アメニティー少ないので極力持参した方が無難。 （女性はメイク落としや化粧水、くし等持参した方がよい。）

温泉は全体的にぬるめ（自身の体感で38℃くらい）で、大浴場入って右側の縦長の湯舟が40℃以上ある感じで一番温かいように思えた。 大浴場の脱衣所に洗面台は無い。脱衣所の入口と逆側にドアがあり、そこを開けて階段を数歩上がった所に３つ洗面台がある。 婦人用の内風呂の脱衣所には洗面台が１つあった。 シャワーが付いているのが大浴場と婦人用の内風呂のみ。 露天風呂には付いてないので最初に内風呂で頭や体を洗ってから露天へ行く。

2階の部屋に宿泊。 玄関右側に小さい冷蔵庫とコップと栓抜きあり。（玄関の照明が電球のみなので結構暗い） 室内にはエアコン、扇風機、ストーブあり。 部屋の奥には洗面台とトイレあり。 浴室もあるが使用不可の張り紙。 部屋にドライヤーあり。（大浴場横の洗面台と婦人用内風呂の洗面台にもドライヤーあり）

食事は部屋を出て少し歩いたところにある別室で頂いた。 皆瀬牛の美味しさが素晴らしかった。 若い人には物足りない量かもしれないが、中年の私には十分すぎる夕食であった。 朝も同じ部屋で頂いた。朝食後には、ロビーにてホットコーヒーが飲める。

現在は犬と宿泊が可能な部屋がある。 敷地内にドッグランができる場所があった。

他の方の口コミで、スタッフの対応が悪いとあったが自分の場合はとても丁寧にもてなして頂き、大変気持ちが良かった。 渋滞にはまってしまい、到着が遅れてしまう旨電話したときも「お気をつけてお越しください」と言って頂きありがたかった。
