We stayed here for 2 nights whilst attending Labyrinth Festival. At one point before we were going the weather was looking bad so we opted to stay in a hotel as opposed to camping (although the weather was actually fine in the end!) It's a bit far away from the festival itself (takes about 10 mins to the nearest festival shuttle bus stop). When we arrived we headed straight to the hotel and were welcomed by the family that owns it. They were so nice and drove us to the festival shuttle bus point at about 1700. There is quite the language barrier as they don't speak much english but they have a translator tool which came in handy! On the first night we couldn't quite work out how to get back so had to book a taxi which a local hotel close to the festival site did for us and basically got ripped off - charged 6000 yen (About £30) for a 10 minute journey! On arrival back the woman came out and helped us speak to the taxi driver as it was only 3000 yen on the meter, driver was having non of it so we paid, but she said we should have called her to pick us up which surprised me as it was 0300! She said the next day to just call and she would pick us up which we did and she did! We opted to head to the hot spring spa after the 2nd day of the festival and she even picked us up from there which was really kind of her again at 0300! The rooms are very basic, it's a traditional Japanese hotel so it's beds on the floor (which you have to make up yourself - bit of a struggle if you've never done it before!) which didn't bother us. Non of the rooms have bathrooms - they are all shared toilet facilities. The showers are downstairs, it's just 3 shower heads on the wall, not that it particularly bothered me but some westerners might not like this as there is literally no privacy at all in there. Overall it's perfect if you are looking for something bit different, in the winter. For Labyrinth it's a bit far out but definitely served a purpose, particularly as they will pick you up and drop you back! A note of caution they don't take credit cards, it's cash only so be prepared to turn up with the cash you need as there are no ATM's in the area (well I...
