This was a horrific stay for me and my husband, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anybody. We were only there for 3x nights and already have so many horrifying tales. The first room we stayed in, there were old, discoloured blood stains on the mattress that were showing through the extremely thin single layer bedsheets. The hygiene of the place was terrible - sticky spots/stains everywhere. We notified reception and they kindly advised us that they will upgrade us to another room. This was a solution I was happy with, they advised us that we should simply pack our bags and call them when we are ready to transfer rooms. We did as instructed and called them to let them know we were ready to transfer and they said someone is coming up to direct us to the new rooms. We waited FORTY FIVE MINUTES. We called reception again and it was a different receptionist who had no idea that we had called and that we were being transferred rooms. We waited another 15 minutes (and in that time we had to call and hurry them up again). We were exhausted it was getting late in the night, we had just landed after a 20hr flight and the incompetence of the staff was astounding. Then when we arrived at the new room, it was NOT an “upgrade” as promised initially and the beds were separate and not one bed for my husband and I. At this stage we were so exhausted, we just gave up and took what we received - at least there weren’t blood stains. Same levels of hygiene were found in this room as well. The showers in ALL the rooms are terrible. I tried in the previous room, the new room and the rest of the family were in 2 more rooms. NONE of the showers were able to maintain a steady water temperature - it would alternate between freezing cold or scalding hot constantly. The one room that could (blood stained room) maintain it, had water pressure so low, I could barely wash soap off of my body. Further, each room is meant to receive a complementary water bottle everyday. As we didn’t trust the hygiene of the cleaners as seen by the state of the rooms, we requested no house keeping while we were there which meant no water bottle delivery. This is understandable, so we called reception to ask for water on the last day. They said no problem, we’ll send someone up. Once again we waited ONE HOUR. Nobody. We ended up going out, coming back, still nothing. We called again. We waited 30minutes (had to chase them up a couple of times). Man comes up to our door and asks for payment. We explain the situation and he says to talk to reception. So we call reception and tell him that we haven’t had housekeeping in 3 days (clearly they don’t have a record of this and once again from a hygiene perspective this is ALARMING), and so we would just like the complimentary bottle of water. The man proceeds to say we still need to be charged for extra bottles of water. After an all out argument, they say they want no trouble and gave us a bottle of water - all that for a bottle of water that we were meant to receive anyway?! (And we didn’t even ask for the bottle of water we didn’t receive for day 2!) I’ve never experienced service so shocking. Also half of the key cards they give you never work, they keep breaking or you need to keep jiggling them in the door to make them work. Smoking is also allowed in the rooms so everything smells strongly of smoke - be careful for those with asthma/allergies. Strongly recommend AGAINST staying in this hotel unless you don’t care for cold/burning showers, poor hygiene and enjoy waiting hours for things to be done. I’ve never had to write such a scathing review for any business. So...

Read moreThis hotel was a long way from the centre of Jordan. We arrived at about 2am and our welcome was less than warm .As we were tired we put this down to it being an unsociable hour but further dealings with the reception staff proved them to be a pretty unfriendly group of people. The restaurant manager by contrast was very warm friendly and accommodating. The food was generally buffet style though on one evening when we returned we asked if we could have a table for 8 in the buffet at 7.30 We were told by the receptionist that there was no buffet as there were so few guests. He told us we should have ordered food that morning. We were in a bit of a dilemma as we were there at a time of heightened security and had been advised to eat in our hotels. He summoned the restaurant manager who said there was no problem and he and his staff provided a huge mixed grill and plentiful salads and bread. They also seemed able to cope with the other few guests in the hotel. My biggest gripe is that the dining room chairs ( which had a faux suede finish were all stained with food. The banquette seating at the side was covered in fluff and some kind of gritty residue. We were not thrilled with this but had little choice. One of our party had a problem with the safe being locked on arrival and they said he had to wait in his room till someone came. This is not ideal when you are on an organised tour. Our room had a broken lamp switch and required us to unscrew the bulb to turn it off. Not what you want to discover when you have just got into bed after an arduous days travelling. The cleaning of the rooms left a lot to be desired and shampoo and shower gel were not replaced The foyer of the hotel is very glitzy and the hotel caters to local weddings etc in upstairs events rooms. I can only presume that they concentrate all their efforts on this and find the tourists an inconvenience. I most certainly would not go there again and neither would any of the other 3 couples we...
