I recently visited Jamal Camp in Wadi Rum, and unfortunately, I had a less than satisfactory experience. The staff at the camp were not very friendly, and there were several issues with our booking and accommodations.

When we booked through Agoda, we were under the impression that we had reserved two Martian Triple tents (bubble) at a discounted rate. However, upon arrival, the camp management insisted that we had only booked normal tents. We showed them proof of our booking, but they continued to argue that it was Agoda's mistake, not theirs. Ultimately, we were given the normal tents, which was not what we had initially booked.

The customer service experience could have been handled in a more professional and accommodating manner. It seemed as though the camp's management lacked the understanding of providing a positive customer experience.

The tents themselves were old and filthy, and the bathrooms were poorly maintained. Cleanliness was subpar, On a positive note, the tents did offer a good amount of space.

As for the food, we paid 10 JD per person for dinner, which included a salad buffet and one main dish of grilled chicken. The quality was mediocre and did not meet our expectations. Breakfast was average, with limited variety.

On the bright side, Jamal Rum Camp is situated in a fantastic location, providing easy access to the stunning desert landscape. We were able to enjoy a sunrise trip, which was a memorable and beautiful experience. The natural beauty of the area somewhat made up for the disappointments we faced during our stay.

I understand that when staying in the desert, certain facilities might not be up to the standards of urban accommodations. However, the lack of friendliness from the staff was disappointing and left a negative impression.

Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Jamal Rum Camp. With over 330 camps in Wadi Rum, there are many other options that are likely to provide a more enjoyable and...

Our experience was truly memorable from start to finish. The owner personally picked us up from the parking area and was incredibly warm and welcoming, setting a positive tone for our entire stay. His jovial nature was infectious, making us feel right at home.

The views were nothing short of spectacular. The panoramic scenery of the mountains and sky created a serene and tranquil atmosphere. The quietness of the desert added to the peacefulness, making it an ideal escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Dinner was a delightful experience, with delicious local dishes that really added to the authenticity of our stay. We were also treated to tea several times throughout our visit, a simple yet thoughtful gesture that made us feel truly cared for. The team here is working with heart and soul to provide the best experience possible, and it really shows.

It’s important to note that this is not a five-star hotel—it's a desert camping experience, complete with local vibes and a connection to the natural surroundings. If you’re looking for luxury amenities, this might not be for you. But if you’re after a genuine desert adventure, this is exactly what you’ll find.

Overall, Wadi Rum offered us an unforgettable experience, rich with culture, hospitality, and breathtaking views. Highly recommended for those looking to immerse themselves in the beauty and tranquility...

We stayed one night with at Jamal Rum camp. We found it in a Facebook group and reading the good comments about it, we decided to contact Salem. He replied instantly and we agreed on a date for us to stay. He also arranged our taxi from Petra to Wadi Rum for a more than fair price. He also arranged for us a day trip to the Dead Sea from and back to Amman, that would have been way more expensive if had done it ourselves.

The Jamal Rum camp did not disappoint. We stayed in of the bubble tents with a great view of the dessert. The tent itself has all you need to feel at home, AC, private bathroom, great bed, terrace and a panoramic window facing the desert that will make you feel like in another planet. A 4 hour tour exclusively for us in the desert was also included and provided by Salem's son.

The food included, especially dinner was delicious cooked in the traditional Bedouin way.

Salem itself is a very talkative and funny guy and will go above and beyond to make you feel like family and welcomed.

Unexpectedly, we got a second short "desert tour", as Salem himself took us back to the visitor center, through the desert, instead of the road 😃

Overall Salem and his family proved to be an excellent host, not only within his camp, but also helping us arrange part of our trip inside Jordan.

Thank you for everything Salem, we will be...

For people who write: not too many options of food, restaurants, shops etc, maybe you should travel to some big cities like Amman or maybe even Dubai or New York 😅. The breakfast had: fried eggs on demand, at least 10 other things to chose, inlcluded sweet and salted, and the dinner: traditionally grilled meet (zarp), vegetables, at least 2 kind of hummus, 3 or 4 salads, what do you expect more? 🙂 In the evening, it's possible to stay outside, sit close to the fire and enjoy the nature and the stars . In the tent, if you leave the curtains opened for the night, you can admire the sky. Jamal, Hassan, Sami, Aziz and the family and staff are very friendly, trying to satisfy the needs. They arrange anything you need, even the transport from Amman. The bubble tent was clean, the bedsheets too. There is sand sometimes in the room or bathroom, but: hello 👋 just a kind reminder, we are on a desert, it's natural 😉 it's natural too that the tents make noise with the wind and they get hot when it's hot outside. We were in a camp in the middle of nowhere, but the tents had toilet and AC (highly recommended), more than enough for me. My kids were really happy with this experience. This place is perfect for stop, relax and meditate your life. There is no TV, no shops, no restaurants. Just the nature, the beduins and you 🌞 . Enjoy.
