Beautiful accomodation in a great scenic Spot. Spent two nights here and really enjoyed it (you could easily book a 3rd if you enjoy hiking). The manger was friendly and we got a room upgrade, which is definitely worth it for the private balcony watching the sunsets.
Looks like a family run business that are still adding improvements to the property which is nice to see. Looking at the other options in town (there aren't many) I think the hotel is the best value for money.
We had the loft style room (if you are taller than 6 foot maybe consider the other rooms) on the top floor. Having a drink watching the sunset was perfect after a few days camping in Wadi rum.
Room was spotless with comfy bed and linen. Extras blankets were great as it gets cold at night. Shower had nice hot water (although it is solar powered so maybe in peak season you might want to get in before dark). Had a small bar fridge and a kettle was provided too.
The Jordanian breakfast and dinners were simple but delicious which was perfect for days of hiking. We did a 20km hike out and back on the main trail by ourselves and didn't see another tourist. The other guided hikes looked good too though so would recommend staying at least 2-3 days.
If you walk a few hundred meters down the dirt road there is a great spot on the right (just after the Dana trail lodge) where you can sit and watch the wildlife around the cliffs and spring. We saw more animals here than the whole trail hike.
Definitely recommend a stop here if you are...
Read moreWe booked this hotel for 3 nights. After the first night in the twin room with a mountain view (the one we booked), we got an upgrade to a king room with a mountain view which we highly appreciated. This room was fabulous -tidy, spacious, the fridge, the tea kettle and the best view ever. We watched the sunrise and the sunset from our private balcony. The beds were comfortable to have a good quality sleep.|The new hotel is owned by the family and all the members work together to take care of it. Upon arrival we were introduced to most of them. The family are sociable, helpful, ready to assist if you need anything. Mother (um Sohip -I'm not sure if I have written the name correctly) cooks tasty dinners with vegetables and olives from their own garden and the orchard.|The surroundings are very well taken care of - the olive trees, roses, cactuses.|The hotel owners have two dogs (we saw just one), very friendly cats (which will not bother you if you are not a cat person, though), two beautiful horses.|During our stay we took a day trip to Wadi Ghuweir (highly recommended!!! See my separate review) , an hour's drive from the hotel to Wadi Ghuweir parking lot, explored the...
Read moreOur stay here was simply amazing, I highly recommend!!! We stayed for 2 nights and went trekking in the canyons nearby, which were surprisingly close to the hotel, thanks to its great location. The view of the mountains that we woke up to every morning was also breathtaking, so much so that we were quite literally stunned. The food was also remarkable in an authentic way, with traditional and varied local dishes which were plentiful contrary to some other accommodations where the " dinner buffet" was empty within minutes. All of this aside, the most amazing was the staff - helpful, willing to provide information about tours in the area and provide guides, friendly and happy to chat with us about our plans. Rooms were also very clean and tidy. I can confidently say it was the best accommodation in Jordan during our 10 day visit, during which we stayed at 5 different locations. On top of all that, we even received a parting gift from the owners' wife of homemade olive oil, which was...
