The rooms are cosy and comfortable but outdated and run down. The service is shocking and the staff are rude. ||Prior to arrival we had some issues with payment, which were resolved but were due to technical issues on the hotel's side. We were met with acussational behaviour when I queried the process. ||On arrival we were shown to our room, which overall was very pleasant and comfortable. The rooms are not in the standard that the media images show though, the place needs tidying up. ||In our room we were met with dirty glasses, and cups, along with no drinking water. We also removed a dead insect from the bed. When we raised the need for clean glasses, the owner was apologetic and did send the waiter to fix this. ||The restaurant is ok but we had real problems on our second night. Considering the location and the fact this is the only place to eat we were shocked to be told that our meal order would be delayed by 30mins because the chef had gone into the city and was on his way back. It was also worrying to see that spillage from breakfast including a broken glass, had not been cleared away and other tables were uncleaned. We were the only people in the restaurant for almost 2 hours, as we waited for our food. When trying to order extra tea, the waiter was nowhere to be found. We did manage to locate someone in the main reception area who told us 7mins for our food, another 30mins passed before an uncooked burger, overcooked fries and cold veal medallions arrived. We refused the burger and told the owner we would not be paying for all of the meal. He then did agree to not charge us at all for the meal. ||On checking out the staff tried to charge us for the dinner, so this had clearly not been communicated or cleared from our bill. We explained the situation and the staff accepted. ||It is so disappointing that the service is so terrible because the rooms whilst tired are cosy and relaxing.
