Resident Hotel Almaty — Hotel in Almaty

Unfortunately a little disappointed to me. The minibar in my room was not working and the heating was very hot and not adjustable. I’m telling the stuff that I’d like to go into the sauna and they told me the prices and that it is not included. I say all right I just go to my room and come back to go into the sauna. I was just 5 min in my room to get my crocs and Bathrobe and if I go down they told me now they have unfortunately a reservation and I have to wait. Make me angry because I told them I come back directly why they give someone other a reservation then? Then I ask if they would to offer me for free because of the situations? Then they told me in the late evening that the sauna from 8-12 is for free. So I wake up earlier and get less sleep and go into the sauna, just for 1,5 hours. Then they told me I have to pay? I asked to change my money please for taxis, even here I get a “not possible” so what is possible? I don’t come back and unfortunately can’t recommend. I get a lot of anger there. And no one really speaks English but that was my opportunity to skill my Russian so thank you. To be fair I have to say the sauna is very well and the stuff is kind! We were disappointed with our stay here, given all that it promised on booking.com. ||The room itself was fine, very clean and has what you need for a 4 night stay but we thought we were paying for much more. ||Booking.com suggested there was a kettle and kitchenette in the room... non existent. What’s the point of having 2 cups and saucers but no kettle?! ||Also suggested tea and coffee was free - I was given a shocking stare when I asked where the coffee was in the kitchen/breakfast room. ||Meant to be a shared kitchen but when we asked if we could use some boiling water/kettle for some instant noodle (we’re travelling!) they said they didn’t have any and wasn’t anywhere to use this...||Spa and pool area was suggested to be free, or at least some of it - costs £10 an hour!!!! Crazy ||the WiFi is absolutely terrible and we were right by the router! ||I also found the staff to be quite off hand and rude when we asked for help/any questions. ||It cost £15 extra if you want to check in before 14:00 so don’t expect to get lucky with an early room if you’re here in...
