We had really wanted to take this tourist stop. So, we requested our tour operator to make the detour for us. He happily obliged.||There is nothing to do in the tiny town of Mogotio, but surprisingly, a whole bunch of vehicles with tourists were making the effort to come here to stand on the Equator. As soon as we stopped, a bunch of sellers surrounded us to entice us into buying something from their souvenir stores. ||There was a lady there who was demonstrating the Coriolis Whirlpool Movement and its Reversal by moving just a few feet from either side of the imaginary Equator Line. She used simple stuff like a pitcher of water, a bowl with a tiny hole at the bottom and a matchstick. She poured water in the bowl, placed that bowl on top of the pitcher, and then placed a matchstick in the bowl. Cleverly, she showed how the water flows in a clockwise direction in the Northern Hemisphere, reverses its direction in the Southern Hemisphere, and goes straight down on the Equator (keeping the matchstick stationary). Basic science, but demonstrated nicely. We avid travelers have all noticed how the toilets flush clockwise in the North, and counter clockwise in the South. But, to see that reversal from just a few feet apart was awesome.||We took a whole bunch of cute photos and videos for our memory books.||Absolutely worth a stop, if you are into this kind of stuff. Read moreQuite a pleasant place to visit away from the concrete jungle. It's very ideal and affordable place to check in they have tent and cottages for your own preference. I also loved their food. It's a place you can visit for picnic, birthday celebrations and also a wedding reception because they have an ever green garden, also soon they're going to install a swimming pool. It borders a seasonal river where you can also go for a walk at the bottom of the river when it's not raining season. I would highly recommend to anyone. #camping...
Read moreVery good place to have a rest when we were doing the KBO. We were 5 cyclists and the welcoming was very good from every member of the staff. The food was generous quantity and delicious compared to other more "luxurious" places we have had to spend the night. The swimingpool is the best for relaxing the muscles after long journeys riding. If they repair some imperfections in the toilets and bathrooms in the rooms, it would be 10, but very good in general, they treated...
