Jambo Village Hotel — Hotel in Chaani ward

Close to the airport and near some good shops such as the mall and many local market type shops. Rooms need air-conditioning though as it is a hot country and the fan just doesn't keep you cool. The downstairs restaurant really lacks a quality breakfast and the restaurant next door was absolutely pathetic. We ordered the grilled chicken and waited over 1 hour for our food and when it finally arrived it was so overcooked that it was like leather and was inedible, and just not worth the money. They are a restaurant and they have an idiot DJ that plays the music so loud we couldn't even hear ourselves talk. Multiple requests to have the volume turned down a little were just ignored, so I would never return again as it is supposed to be a restaurant to eat and enjoy food and the environment not a nightclub with music so loud you can't hear each other. They also serve drinks that are not cold and have no ice, so it was a total waste of money and time, and I would suggest never going here if you want nice food or cold drinks, because you won't get them, just a headache from...

It is located perfectly for travel to the airport, so the convenience is certainly a reason to stay here. The staff were all pleasant, but the rooms could use air-conditioning as it is a hot country. I am not a huge fan of this hotel. I get this is Kenya and am rating this as a westerner. The first nights stay our A/C did not work. We were told it was just warming up and an hour later it is still hot. We call several times because we can not sleep and finally someone shows up to confirm the A/C is broken and we can't get a room change until the morning. Advertises wifi, but won't reach the 3rd floor. Best wifi is in the lobby. Overpriced meals in the restaurant. The florescent lighting in the rooms hurt eyes. Bathrooms have a small window that opens up to hotel hallways which means mosquitos get in that way and you can hear people outside your room and they can hear you unless you keep the bathroom door shut.
