The Grand Royal Swiss Hotel, Kisumu — Hotel in City of Kisumu

This place is really nice but the staff is terrible My father decided to have his wedding reception at this place. He had a strict budget and a firm agreement with the staff on how much food and drinks would be served. The hotel staff allowed the guest to go over the agreed amount of food and drinks served. My father specifically instructed that once the limit was reached that the staff had to personally ask him about anything additional. The hotel staff failed to follow this very simple request. The stay went over budget and the hotel staff refused to take the additional charges off even know it was their fault. Also, the food for the reception was suppose to include 3 meats but they only made 2. When my father brought this up they refused to fix the issue. They also spoke badly to my dads wife saying that my dad is not a good man for wanting to dispute these charges that was their fault to begin with. They also promised my father a discount but they never gave it to him. They were nasty and very dishonest and should never be trusted. Staff like this do not deserve to have such a great job at a nice hotel since they do not know how to treat people and be honest. Very upset at what happened to my father and I hope this does not happen to anybody else

UPDATE we have contacted the manager as he requested. He felt that this incident was only a innocent mistake on his staffs part and would only offer an apology. Incredible hospitality! This was our first visit to this lovely hotel. We sought a quiet location to unwind and appreciate the cuisine and surroundings after a stressful family gathering.||Luke, the doorman, greeted us with open arms upon our arrival. We were pleasantly delighted to be welcomed into a Deluxe room with a stunning view of the Maragoli Hills. Our room was spacious and featured a terrace overlooking the Tropical Garden. The rooms are lovely, peaceful, and exceptionally clean. The breakfast buffet was fantastic, with so many options to chose from. They also have an excellent restaurant serving exquisite cuisine. Beatrice was the one who served us. She was courteous, professional, friendly, and efficient.|| I hosted a dinner party for members of my family. We were a group of ten. The service provided by the doorman/security, reception, and the restaurant was outstanding. We were accompanied by a lady named Beatrice. She recommended the best dish for my family. Her suggestion was ideal. We ate Kuku-Kienyeji as well as other delicacies. We had a great time. She remained our dining advisor till we checked out of the hotel. We could see she was passionate about her work.||The management joined us for breakfast on our last day to thank us for promoting their hotel by staying during the Coronavirus pandemic.
