Maina Highway Hotel — Hotel in Embu

There are hotels, then there are brothels and then there are dungeons. Maina highway hotel fits in the latter two. As a hotel i would’t give this mess a single star. Main Highway hotel is located in the heart of Embu Town just across the (Embu - Meru) highway. A high rise 10 plus storey building is very close to the highway, you will be tempted by its proximity to cross over. But don’t fall for that bait. This mess of a hotel has the most clandestine operations and services, it should not be in the service industry. I will explain why.||On the 29th December 2016, myself, my sister and my brother in law made a stop-over in the dead of the night and crossed over to Maina Highway hotel. We paid for two rooms, parked our car in the basement and stepped into the elevator. We were headed to the 6th floor but were intercepted by the security guard who demanded to see our payment receipts. We obliged of course but alas!, trouble started. We were informed we can’t check into the rooms unless we pay for an extra room because at Maina Highway hotel, they charge per head not per room. Startling and surprising. We thought at first it was a joke, but guess what? We had to leave and get to another hotel across the street. Our money was not refunded. Despite being kept waiting for the next half a day, the managers refused to pick calls and the staff present looked harassed and helpless. We warned the management we shall make it our business to warn potential clients, we have kept the promise. If you happen to spend a night or two in Embu, you have a wide range of beautiful and exemplary hotels to choose from, you know which one not to. Main Highway hotel is not a hotel, its a dungeon. This place offers quality and classic services of any kind, It's very spacious with parking, thou you have to pay the for street parking,it has staff members of high profession in catering and the alike ,the hotel can offer accommodation of any kind, it's located in accessible place station ,it's very secure, It's well varnished thou no very expensive, It's very remarkable,For those who need moderate lifestyles this the place meant for you since it's very a moderate bar and restaurant,with great offers to various services in atleast everything,let you this place is very secure not only to clients and their property be it your car or any other things,i assure their guard are trust worthy otherwise feel safe here. There is nothing good to say about this hotel. Made a mistake and paid before seeing the rooms but had to leave immediately for another hotel and never got a refund.||||The rooms are tiny and cramped. You need to sleep with your head next to the toilet door, one plastic chair in a room supposedly for two people, a tiny bed and one dark towel.
