We had a fantastic 3 night stay at this lodge! The in park location is a huge advantage as to what time you can start and end your daily game drives!||Grounds are lovely, higher standard than I expected.|Downside compared to some other lodges in the area: you cannot see the mountain from anywhere on the property and odds of seeing wildlife on the property other than monkeys is not good.|3 nights was the perfect amount. We saw many people only staying 1 night and with no guarantee of seeing Kilimanjaro I think that is a big mistake. | |Rooms would be much better if they had AC and a small fridge but lodge provided a room fan in addition to ceiling fan and upon request provided us with a second room fan which made a huge difference!|Supplied daily bottles of water get hot with no fridge.|The rooms are of excellent size though.||Employees very friendly, high standard of service and they really remember the guests who stay more than 1 night.|Pool was very nice and perfect relaxation in between game drives.||Food was good* - good for a buffet but was more of a quantity over quality situation. Selection was large though and they did vary things daily. Drinks were extra for lunch and dinner - included for breakfast and always had nice fresh juice options as well as various coffee drinks.||Monkeys can be a bit of a nuisance. Cute on first day but after they mistook our gift shop souvenir bag for food they became not as much fun to have around and had some concerns about pool cleanliness with them always around. Did not experience or witness any serious altercations though and the hotel has a Maasai or two to keep them away.||Gift shop very nice with same or better pricing than the tourist shops along the roadside to/from Nairobi without the sales pressure. We bought quite a few things and all are good quality.||Location is the main factor here, it is in the best position to maximize your game drives in the park! I highly recommend and would stay here again if going back...

Stopped here for one night as part of a week long safari. The standard rooms are in two long rows and we were located in room 10.||We arrived for lunch before heading out for an afternoon game drive.||The rooms here are lovely, each individually decorated in traditional colours with painted animals on the walls. There was plenty of storage space but like most, we were only here for one night. I would have like another but we were part of a week long safari tour and another lodge beckoned the following day.||The room was clean and spacious. The only thing that didn't work well was the location of the fan, it was too far away from the bed to give any relief from the heat. We did have small USB fans which can be used with a power bank or via a plug with USB sections, so they provided some relief from the heat. The sockets in the room are same as the UK (although the sockets can accommodate other sizes but I cannot confirm what these are - you can see them on the picture of the bed).||The door to the outside patio area is made of mesh (not glass). You also need to make sure the door is locked as the monkeys can and will make their way in.||The Wi-Fi was good enough for our requirements.||Staff were always visible and very helpful should you have any queries or problems.||Dinner and breakfast times were much quieter than the previous 2 lodges. ||For breakfast, if you require toast, you need to ask for it - there is no toaster. Tea and coffee are also delivered to your table.||The location of this lodge would be hard to beat and the views are great, especially if animals make an appearance.||Outside our room, there were loads of vervet monkeys. We also had banded mongoose...

When we arrived,my car was obviously dusty due to the rough road and my luggage was on the roof rack,I asked for the reception for help, and the guy who was asked to help us,told me and my family to get the luggage down from the roof rack because its dirty, then he will take it from there, the food was so disappointing at lunch when we checked in,the menu was not making sense, the foods where dry no gravu or soups to add on or even side sauces for dishes prepared, the chef was good enough he quickly cooked us fish and chips as we had kids,at night food was more worse than lunch,we had asked for some special food, which they still.used same ingredients and sauce to fix up,but not blaming chef,he really was helpful, he dint jus have the right ingredients I guess, food was got finished before everyone could eat ,the resort was understaffed, only 2 waiters in the whole dinning area, hotel.was fully packed, covid guide lines were not being followed, everyone was serving themselves, some used gloves provided and some dint, some wore masks and some dint,no one bothered from the staff to ensure the guidelines are being followed, used gloves were disposed right next to the dinning table in a dustbin that was so small couldn't last 5mins with the rush there was, people threw the used gloves all over the dinning tables,no waiter bothered to collect or empty dustbin, there were construction repairs ongoing 4.30pm on Saturday jamhuri day right next to our room, really disappointing to see serena hotels in this state, would never recommend or go there again, basically it...

This is a great place to go for holiday and unwind. Granted, the cellular network is poor which gives one the more the reason to get away from the daily hustle and bustle and the privacy while at it. There's very good internet though in case you'd want connectivity, rather impressive speeds considering it's in the middle of the Savannah. The aura is good, rooms are simply made mimicking the maasai manyatta lifestyle in the neighbourhood. The views from the room are wonderful as its in the middle of the park(maybe not smack in the middle but you get the point) so you get to interact with some animals right outside your verandah as there's a watering hole nearby. Be careful though as they're wild, they just might scratch or bite so steer clear and don't attempt to feed them. Game drives are best done at dawn as you are more likely to come across mufasa then as he leads the pride home. He's the hardest one to spot hence the one who is most looked out for. One can have breakfast at the observation hill for an extra cost but all in all its a great place, wonderful people and the service is good as well. Will be going back there more often.

We visited Serena Lodge in May end ,2024. It’s located in the park which is its biggest advantage. You feel in the middle of nature. The location is best. The rooms are decent. Bathrooms are nice and clean like rooms. However I felt the position of fans should be better specially in the evening when you have little warm. Also the rooms have grass at back part for decent view but it’s not maintained apart from this it’s been nice place The food is super. Chef Michael took our special care as we had special food need as we were Jain. You feel the nature when you are here and staff is also courteous. The internet is also decent although being in remote place. At the night you have amazing star gazing. Some more advantage of staying inside Park - You save time for entering and going out of the park (it takes 20-30 mins each way) - You get more time to spend in park - you can take multiple game drives easily as you can take break for breakfast / lunch and go back again Must stay place. My family stayed here for 2 days and it was super experience. Thanks Serena Group

This place is an oasis in a desert. It brings a calm to the dust and heat of amboseli park. The animals roam free and you get to experience the monkeys, giraffes, impalas, snakes, zebras etc as you have your meal. It overlooks the Amboseli National park so the view is most definitely a win. The rooms are cosy, clean and warm. A ceiling fan is available and a screen door when it gets too hot. The bathroom/washroom is equipped with basic toiletries like soap, shampoo, shower caps, sanitary bags, toilet paper, towels, bath robes and slippers. Hair drier, electric kettle, writing pad, pen and work station/ dresser is well spaced and has enough storage space. The closet is spacious enough for a camping bag or medium sized suitcase to fit inside. No tv in the rooms, there’s one in the bar/lounge if you need to catch up to a sports game or news. Food is fresh and delicious. The chefs, and waiting staff are super friendly and helpful. Reception is super friendly and can help organise game drives and other activities around the hotel. High recommendation.
