I wanted to express my sincere gratitude for the exceptional experience during my recent staying at Nomad Hotel. From the warm welcome at check-in to the impeccable service throughout, every moment was truly memorable. Thank you for creating an environment where guests feel not only welcome but also valued. I look forward to the opportunity to return to the Nomad Hotel in the future.

It was my first time in Garissa, and I was pleasantly surprised that it is so green. The hotel is surprisingly quiet and serene, given that it is located along a busy highway. The rooms are clean, spacious, comfortable and well-furnished. The food was good. The staff are courteous and responsive. The cost was affordable. I loved it. Highly recommended.

-Clean rooms with functional AC. -Old fashioned door locks, you must be old enough to operate it. -Towels are smelly. -washrooms requires soap holders. -Dirty old furniture packed at the lower stairs looks pathetic. -Breakfast is amazing but juices are excessfully diluted. -Front office are professionals.

The hotel itself is not all that bad, the price right however it's a long way from the airport. I had a 18 hour layover in Nairobi and decided to get a place to hang out while I waited. I hired a car and driver to take me to the hotel, on the way the driver warned me about the area so I wasn't about to wander around by my self. I booked online and the check-in was easy and speedy, the place was reasonably clean, but noisy, like a European apartment. The room was as described in the online booking, shower was hot, which was a plus after a long flight and the bed was comfortable. My driver showed up on time to take me back to the airport and due to road construction had to park up the road, he was visibly upset about leaving his car parked up the road but we made it without incident. We put my two bags into the back seat (which, as it turned out was a big mistake) and headed to the airport. On the way, while stuck in traffic, someone started banging on the side of the car, which distracted me long enough for his accomplice to reach into the slightly open window and unlock the back door and steal one of my bags. I nearly gave chase but thought better of it and let it go. We made it to the airport unscathed after that incident and the remainder of the trip was uneventful. So, if you do venture into this area, PUT YOUR BAGS IN THE TRUNK! We were an easy mark and they realized that and made their move which netted them an iPad, iPhone, some headphones and other personal items. I had read the reviews and went there anyway. I should have gone with my gut and sprang for a better place. There is...

If you for some reason find yourself travelling near the somali border than this fairly safe hideout is the best hotel for an area of at least up to 180 km surrounding it. We had a spacious room, running water and the price was quite low. (20 USD).||The restaurant serves breakfast and ordinary food of local quality. Not many Women in sight and you have to keep up with some non friendly comments etc. If you are a women or white.|||Security:|Stay updated on the local situation regarding Al-Shabab movments/actions near the City. Talk with the KDF and local Police (before you approach the city, sometimes they just close all roads in/out and then you are stuck in the desert.||The district Police and Military Camp is just 1 km from the hotell so you have from the hotel a short distance to travel to meet your personal escort for futher travel, also the military arranged 2 soldiers to stay outside the hotell for us during the night. Garissa city is not coverd by the dusk-to-dawn curfew (but all areas around the city and the county is). The hotell has a Wall around it and the city itself is fairly well protected. Dont go to this region if you dont know what you are doing, and keep in mind your incurence dont work here as your embassy for sure advice against travat to Garissa county. ||Also rember that Al-shabab has support in parts of the local population, so be careful even inside/behand the KDF barrier.||Good luck and...
