Eagleโs Camp rose far above the expectations I held and in all metrics. The lodges are rustic in the most charming way. The terrace looks over Lake Elementeita, a salt water basin home to flamingos, pelicans, spoonbills and other species. The staff are more than attentive and always in good humour. Itโs lovely to hear their laughter as they work in the common space, which had a huge fireplace at its centre and likewise looks over the lake; a beautiful setting to watch the sunset. Although difficult, I must single out Faith โ chatty, always in good humour, and smiling. Faith also booked my day safari to Soysambu Conservancy, where I had the run of the park. I didnโt come into contact with any other tourists on this adventure during which I also hiked to the top of the Sleeping Warrior Mountain. Surrounding Eagleโs camp is a village with a strong sense of community. Alex, a local, runs a library and teaching centre below the main terrace on Saturdayโs, which the Kenyan owners promote. I cannot understand why Lake Naivasha is preferred over Eagleโs Point Camp/Lake Elementeita. It is enchanting, serene, unspoiled, and brimming...
ย ย ย Read moreThe camp has an amazing view overlooking Lake Elementaita. The hosts are friendly and welcoming. They have a gathering house which has couches and a patio which overlooks the lake. You can eat inside or outside. The gathering house has wifi- although it was spotty.||The bungalows were spacious with a wardrobe area and bathroom. There was a porch with seating. Electricity was available in the bungalows.||Breakfast had a variety of cereal and yogurt, you could order an omelette. ||Dinner had a basic menu, which was ok but took a long time to prepare. ||They made me an order of chips for an afternoon snack.||||The grounds were very pretty, although there seemed to be a lot of trash. They are building a new building to the side of the gathering house which does not have bunglows. There was a building with a gentleman who designs colored glass windows, absolutely amazing work.||||The advertising say credit cards accepted. when we went to check-out we were told we could not pay with a credit card. They should have told us this long before we were to check out, as we barely gathered enough to pay and had to find an...
ย ย ย Read moreWe stayed 5 days at the camp. It was the best experience for my family being with Francesca and the ladies who help make this place as comfortable and homey as one can be. ||We stayed most of the time in the family area and had two cabins to call our own facing the lake. The lovely "dog" Diego was there first thing in the morning to come have a walk with me to the lake and play with the kids whenever they are out and about. Francesca planned our days with us since we went during low season and had the place for ourselves for 3 of the nights. We visited the lake from different sides, we "dove" into an archeological home that was probably ruined by the volcano 500 years ago, had a pool to ourselves from a nearby camp, played different sports on the ground of the camp and generally had lots of fun. ||||We took a full board and were well fed with yumminess. Thank you Elizabeth, Rihab, Chico and Mama Maina, and ofcourse Francesca. You celebrating our baby boy's 6th birthday with music and dancing was the most unique experience we had. We can't wait to come...
