This was my first time to the Lake Elementaita area in Kenya, so I wasn't sure what to expect.||I chose the Elementaita Bandas Retreat and Resort purely on the price, it was a great deal the place was offering. There were no reviews on TripAdvisor, so was quite cautious. ||||Its relatively new and has much to learn, however, on the whole, the place is excellent. ||||The room was very comfortable and very modern, we stayed in Room 9. A very comfy bed, tastefully decorated, good powerful shower with hot water. ||The grounds are very nice and very peaceful.||The food was very good and the beers were cold. ||Breakfast was decent and well presented.||The service was fantastic and Gloria, who is the Manager, was excellent in her hospitality.||||My critical feedback would be the place really needs a Swimming Pool. ||Perhaps invent some local tourist excursions. The surrounding area has a wonderful lake, stunning mountains and lots of wildlife. I think the place could benefit from offering something very simple for its guests to consider.||500 Kenya Shillings for 1 Sausage and Chips is overpriced for Kenya, so I'd look at the food menu and its pricing. For other guests I'd recommend agreeing the price of food beforehand as not all items are on the menu. ||||Other than that, I'd definitely recommend it as a great place to stay. It's much better than most other places I've stayed in Nakuru and Naivasha, so it's a good option and not far from either town. ||||I wish the place all the best...
Read moreWe arrived at the resort at night and the first thing that caught my eyes was the lighting. The grounds looked amazing and there was a movable bob fire just outside the reception.||The pre-booking experience with Gloria was pleasant and she even picked us up as we couldn't find our way from the main road after exiting - Nairobi-Nakuru Highway.||We stayed at Room 9 which had two beds for us and and our kids. ||The rooms are basic but clean and the hotel provided hot drinking water. Showers are hot with good flow of water.||Breakfast is continental and good.||What i loved most was the green grass play area with swings and a slide to keep kids busy. They provided a food ball too!||Elementaita gets quite hot during the day and the absence of a swimming pool is really felt. The management advised that they will have one up by April 2017.||Hope to revisit once they have the swimming pool.||All the staff were very friendly and helpful.||We were able to visit a park with traditional homesteads and some animals - crocodiles, turkey, tortoise ostrich which is a walking distance from the resort.||Generally i liked the resort and they offered value...
Read moreWe were pleasantly surprised by this place. After struggling to find a place, we booked the Bandas and were skeptical due to low price. Well, the place was clean, they kept the kitchen open for us as we were delayed by 4 hours and arrive close to midnight. Food was brought to our rooms. The room was clean, with comfortable beds and nice linens. Breakfast was served in the outdoors dinning area, which we really enjoyed. The staff was very friendly...
