Matteo's Italian Restaurant Naivasha — Hotel in Hells Gate ward

The Matteo's Resort and Restaurant is located among the road that goes from Naivasha to Hell's Gate National Park, in the middle of nowhere. Nevertheless, it is actually one of the best Italian restaurant in Kenya: every dish is prepared with attention, supervised by two Italian hosts. Of course, some dishes are "contaminated" with Kenyan culture (Pesto genovese with chicken, some pizzas with some random ingredients) but if you ask, they will prepare you the classic ones. I stayed there for 10 days and I tried everything, and everything was good (something was even better that some counterparts I've tried in Italy). The pizza is also well-done. The rooms are big and comfortable, and even if they do not have any HVAC they are fresh and ok. If you pass from there, I suggest you to stop and try it.

Il Matteo's Resort and Restaurant si trova lungo la strada che va da Naivasha al Parco Nazionale di Hell's Gate, in mezzo praticamente al nulla. Nonostante ciò, è in realtà uno dei migliori ristoranti italiani in Kenya: ogni piatto è preparato con attenzione, supervisionato da due padroni di casa italiani. Certo, alcuni piatti sono "contaminati" con la cultura keniana (pesto genovese con pollo, alcune pizze con qualche ingrediente a caso) ma se lo chiedete vi prepareranno quelli classici senza problemi. Sono rimasto lì per 10 giorni e ho provato di tutto, e tutto era buono (qualcosa era anche meglio di stesse cose mangiate in posti in Italia). Anche la pizza è ben fatta. Didnt stay here, just stopped for a few pizzas on the way back to Nairobi. Decent pizza (slightly overcooked and burnt around the edges but still tasty), took a while to be served even though the restaurant had only one other table occupied.
