Wish We Stayed Longer My family of 4 (hubby, my mom, our son and me) spent 1 glorious night at this hidden gem on our way to Amboseli. It was one of the best places we stayed on our 12-night Kenya safari. Even our private guide who has stayed at numerous high end accommodations said this was one of his favorite as it's authentic and intimate. From the onset, we were "assigned" an impressive Maasai warrior, Quenya. He took care of our every need .. luggage, room, dining, etc. But, the most amazing thing Quenya shared was his deep knowledge of the Maasai, his love of the land and his ability to spot wildlife that abounds in this amazing place. On our first evening, Quenya took us on a 2+ hour walking safari. We saw sights, sounds and animals that we saw nowhere else in Kenya..up close and personal! Note we visited Amboseli, Masai Mara, Lake Naivasha, Hell's Gate and Lake Nakuru, so that's saying something! Quenya is knowledgeable, funny and engaging. He knew every tree and animal. He taught us things you'll never see nor learn on a driving safari. And, in the morning, he did it again! Those walks, alone, were worth every penny (and are included in your stay) .. and I haven't even gotten to the food! Note that we stayed in 5-star hotels, camps and lodges for most of our trip, and we all agreed that Maasai Simba had the best food, hands down. It was all tasty, plentiful, with ample salad, soup, meats, veggies, fruit and bread to go around. So much flavor and variety! We had spaghetti and meat sauce when we arrived for lunch, and I am still wishing I got the recipe. The accommodations were smaller and more "rustic" in nature, but they're interesting and full of character. Everything was CLEAN. We never saw a single critter anywhere. Mosquito nets were in pristine condition, not that we even needed them. For some reason, we never saw a mosquito anywhere in the camp, and I'm a HUGE mosquito magnet. The beds were super comfy, and they gave us a fan in each room, which kept us plenty cool. As for the camp, there were always cute velvet monkeys prancing about. We enjoyed a game of darts, strolling about the premises and an evening bonfire with Quenya regaling us with awesome stories about his life. So fun and memorable. My only regret was not staying longer. So, thank you to the amazing staff of Maasai Simba. You won't be forgotten.

My wife and I stayed 3 nights at Maasai Simba Camp during our honeymoon at the end of February. The camp is really lovely, rustic, remote, and the local Maasai community help run it which is great. The food was simple but excellent and clearly made with love. We stayed in one of the tents which was comfortable, and there were nice spots to hang out during downtime around camp. We did a full day safari at Amboseli which was amazing, the wildlife with the backdrop of Kilimanjaro was so cool. The camp is about an hour from the park gates which should be factored in - but I think it’s also reflected in the prices which are pretty good value competitive to others we saw. Most of all though, we appreciated the warmth of the staff, and especially Kwenia, who was always around to make sure we were looked after and comfortable, and took us for walking safaris and a visit to the local Maasai village was was really memorable. They also arranged transport from Nairobi and the Namanga Border crossing. Special shout out to Tom from the camp who drove us to Namanga and made sure we got across to Tanzania OK :) Thank you to the camp for hosting us for a lovely few days near Amboseli.

Simba Camp was a beautiful experience. The camp just looks beautiful, where huts and banda's are build between all the green(trees and bushes). We slept in a beautiful Banda with shower and toilet. We were very warm welcomed by the Masaai who run the camp. The nature walks during evening and morning make for an authentic experience, seeing wild animals from short distance (such as giraffes, zebra's, gerenuk and even a puff adder!!). Another authentic experience was our dialogue with the elders (Masaai). They gave us a true insight in the Masaai culture. Moreover a trip to the Amboseli park was well arranged. And besides all these wonderful experiences we loved the relaxing atmosphere at Simba camp. Learned to play Mancala from the staff and played rummicub with them. The food was amazing with everyday another menu. We cannot wait to get back!

It's the worst quality/ price experience I have ever had. You pay 180$/ night to sleep in a room where you can't even flush the toilet (you need to use a bucket in order to do that) and where you have mouses inside. We bought the 4 days - 3 nights package with them. We really loved the walking safaris, one of the best experiences we had in kenya. On day no 2 we had "cultural activities" which included 1-hour meeting with the elder. We were supposed to meet the women association, which I was really excited about, but they canceled it, because supposedly it was a market day for woman. We stayed on more night so we could have done it the next day but when we asked about that, they said it wasn't possible. We were also supposed to visit the school, but they didn't offer us that. Onlty after I claimed that we were supposed to have a day full of cultural activities and we only had a meeting with elders, they agreed to take us to the school. So you have to be pushing for them to make the program you are paying for. On our last day we went for a safari. We were promised to have a safari in a jeep, but they brought a van, which is a worse experience. After reminding them 9again) that we were promised a jeep safari they brought a very dirty (with a lot of dust inside) and old vehicle. It was so noisy that it was our worst day of safari out of our entire trip (we visited 3 more parks after that). Moreover, the jeep's motor engine stopped working IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PARK, VERY CLOSE TO SOME ELEPHANTS, which are quite dangerous in Kenya. We had to LEAVE THE VEHICLE AND PUSH IT in order to make the engine run, while the driver stayed inside. Of course for this game drive we paid extra. Of course, the Maasai Camp is prety far from Amboselli - almost 1 hour. I don't reccomend this place, the Maasai people sit all day long and don't really interact with you. From the bright side: the food was delicious and the cook was a good man. In total: don't stay here, you can find much better places...
