Isiolo Transit Hotel is a fairly clean establishment just off the main road in Isiolo town. You can get anything from junkfood to the ingredients of a bomb from the shops around the town.
The staff is very polite. One of the waiters at the bar (no I was not getting wasted), Thomas, was very kind. He let us charge our phones, laptops and ipods at the bar, watched everything for us. The administration at the hotel does warn us however, not to leave anything in our rooms unattended. So they know they've hired a bunch of thugs to clean and fix the rooms, is that it? Or maybe they just know that people come in hoping to rob travelers and tourists.
Food. Don't except five star food or treatment though. They serve food that makes you feel like you're at home - home where all the amateur cooks are. So yes, it is edible, it's just not spectacular.
Let me warn you though. It's got a smell. Not a nice smell, but it's among the safest places in Isiolo to stay. Also, the rooms are a bit chilly, so always carry a sweater or jacket or let's just make it a winter coat.
