Indeed, It's a Place of Joy
As the director of a tour company, I always visit a lodge or camp before recommending it to my clients. Recently, I decided to check out Enashipai Lodge to familiarize myself with the experience it offers.
The Highs:
The lodge is located in a serene area, surrounded by nature and authentic local surroundings. Despite facing some water challenges, it is well-maintained and clean, with beautifully kept lawns. The swimming pool is also tidy and well cared for. The rooms are nice and spacious, equipped with hot showers, and feature interconnected doors for added safety for families with children.
Children have plenty of activities to keep them entertained, including biking, badminton, swimming, bird watching, and pool games. The food served is good, and the staff are friendly. Overall, it’s a lovely place for a weekend getaway amidst nature.
The Lows:
Reservations must be made through the manager, who requires a 50% deposit. While this is common practice, many hotels today do not insist on such a policy. The downside is that after making the deposit, you must arrive at the lodge to avoid losing your money.
The road from Isinya Town to the hotel is extremely bumpy, making for a rough drive, especially for those in a sedan. Unfortunately, the manager or reservations staff do not mention the state of the road until you’re already on it, which can lead to frustration about the down payment. Had I been informed in advance about the poor road conditions, I would have considered using one of our 4x4 Land Cruisers.
My Advice:
If you plan to visit this hidden gem, be sure to use a vehicle suitable for off-road conditions in Kenya. Otherwise, the memory of this beautiful lodge may quickly fade once you start your...

Read moreEnchipai Campsite is a beautiful resort..even if it really far from Nairobi. However, I couldn't believe how the washrooms were so dirty...no water to even wash our hands. But we spoke to one lady madam Patience on the same and they promised to check on that. Another thing I must point out is if you are planning to be there...kindly do not forget to carry your swimming costume..the ones available are at a price I didn't find pocket friendly considering you also have to pay for swimming. The food is amazing though you will have to order more just to get full. Generally my take would be an okay place..but could be really amazing if they checked on the few...
