This is a beautiful hotel with a lot of potential, but our experience here was thoroughly disappointing. The prices are very fair and the location was great for our purposes, but the rooms are not maintained well and the staff seemed surprised by and unequipped to deal with every concern we had - most of which were not attended to despite us staying for 2 nights and bringing our concerns up soon after we checked in.

Water in the shower was cold, and the towels in one of our rooms smelled damp and moldy. The window to one of the rooms was broken, and the window to the second room was open when we checked in at night, allowing mosquitoes to fly in freely. Both rooms were full of mosquitoes, and we had to spend a big part of the night killing them. Despite bringing these concerns up with the reception immediately, they only changed the towels the second night, and we only had hot water the second night (thankfully), but the broken window was still unattended to. Luckily the fans helped keep the mosquitoes away from us, but one of the people in our group got sick after having the fan running for 2 nights.

The washrooms near the reception were dirty throughout our stay, with no sign of them having been cleaned from the moment we arrived till the day we left.

They have blaring loud music in the restaurant (though they say this is only on weekends) to the point that you cannot actually hold a conversation there. While they stop their music at midnight, the facility right next door will disrupt your sleep with booming music until long past 2 am. It didn't help that the staff at the reception assured us that this neighbouring facility turns their music off at around midnight when we asked about it the first night. When we brought it up the next day, they were fumbling and mumbling, making it evident that they knew the music would go on until late. They were probably worried that if they told us the truth, we might've looked for a different place. While we don't hold them responsible for music outside their premises, being honest about the timing would help in managing guest expectations rather than frustrating guests with misleading responses.

Their dinner was reasonable and served in generous portions. Agnes, our waitress, was lovely and even kept checking on us until the next day. However, we had to pay for the dinner as soon as we had finished rather than having the bill posted to our rooms to be cleared on checkout, which was a bit unexpected. Breakfast was fine for the price we paid, but they had loud clanging noises from their renovations that were going on outside the restaurant while we and other guests were still eating on the second morning. We had to request that they stop until we had finished our breakfast.

While Pikadili gave us a decent place to stay, the poor management of the place and noise levels mean that we will probably...

I visited my parents in Kendu bay and they suggested going here for drinks /happy hour /sunset watch . Very beautiful hotel , well decorated , great ambience . Lots of parking spaces , free for guests /patrons. My nieces and nephew wanted to swim and had a wonderful time at the pool. |I would have Given the hotel five stars but service was the worst I have ever experienced . As soon as we sat down , a very young lady brought menus and disappeared. It took another 30 minutes for a different waitress to take orders . They both had no knowledge of wines at all!! No basic wine knowledge ... savignon Blanc is white wine ,merlot and Shiraz are red . I quickly glanced through the menu and asked the waitress if all wines listed ( name brands ) were available. She nodded yes and went to get our order . When she got back , she brought different wines, as what we had ordered on the menu was not available. I didn’t want to argue so I settled for whatever was available . I kid you not, it took the young waitress 5-7 minute to open one bottle of wine, plus we all had residue/little pieces of the wine cork in our glasses. She was using a Modern wine opener so am not sure what the problem was . |When it was time to pay the bill , again everyone disappeared. It took 45 minutes to an hour to get the bill. I was using my Visa card so I asked for a card machine. The waitress swiped my card then stated that the card machine was not charged and she needed to go charge it , lol ! She disappeared with my card . I followed her to the reception and she had resolved charging issues and had given my card to my sister who was using the rest room at the reception at the time. I told her that I didn’t appreciate her disappearing with my card . She needed to let me know what the issue was and have me go with her to charge my card , when issues were resolved. She also handed my card to my sister !! Why ????? It’s my personal card ! I asked for the manager , but apparently there was none in the premises at the time???? The two guys at the reception were hopeless . The one was busy answering and speaking to someone on his personal phone and had the audacity to ignore me until his personal conversation was done . Plus when I looked at my statement from my bank the following day , they had charged me twice !!! I disputed the duplicate charge !! |Bottom line , I support my people and business ventures . Please stop hiring mediocre staff for great businesses. The place is beautiful but service sucks and it’s gonna ruin this beautiful place. I know that sometimes we want to hire relatives ! No issue with that , but could you please make sure they are well trained ??? |I recommend the hotel but just be prepared for...

I’m no stranger to Pikadili hotel and I have always enjoyed my stay there. The location is fantastic since it is right on the main road facing the lake Victoria. The reception when you arrive is fantastic, starting from the way the guards at the gate treat you up to the point of check-in. I stayed at one of their larger rooms which is more like a studio apartment with your own furniture and loads of space. This room is perfect for anyone traveling with kids especially. The staff generally have a positive attitude and treat you warmly. The rooms are quite clean and well taken care of.

There are few improvements that the hotel needs to work on such as: Making sure all the rooms have phones to reach the reception. However, our room was quite new so maybe they had not had a chance to install one. The reception staff need to greatly improve on their speed when doing the final billing, especially when a client asks for the final bill to be prepared for check out. We asked for our final bill 2 hours before check out and we still had to wait an additional hour for them to present the bill to us. The breakfast options need to be more neutral. They did not really serve an English breakfast. The room we stayed at could do with a microwave since it’s already so huge and has a nice fridge in it.

Overall, the experience was great and I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to explore...

Piccadilly hotel Kendu bay is overrated. The rooms are not clean and very small. Bathroom smell was in my room the whole night. Me and my wife had a skin irritation cause by a mattress with molds. I turned my mattress upside down and it had a dark patch ring of growing mould underneath. That was a big health concern to me because nobody should sleep in a mattress with mold. I did notify the lady at the receptionist and she was kind enough to give me the managers (Edwin) phone number. I called him twice but the phone was just ringing. I wrote him a text with pictures of the mattress and he did not even bother to call me back or to respond to my concern. With that I don’t care attitude, am convince that other guest will use that room and be a victim of skin irritation and respiratory health issues. I slept in room 108 on 19th of July 2025 so avoid that room as much as you can.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel, immaculate rooms, comfortable and highly professional staff. From when we walked in the reception was spectacular, the staff at the reception ensured we checked in successfully, they were kind and very sweet. Now to the Garden restaurant, everything surpassed our intentions. The waitresses and waiters were very cool people. We loved Lucy and Fred they are friendly and highly professional. This is your spot to stay whether you are a tourist or passing by Kendu town. We felt safe and enjoyed every moment. Keep it up!

Incredible food, impeccable service. This place is one of the few spots in Kendu Bay (probably the only) I can vouch for for outstanding customer service. The staff is very decent and respectful with the customers. The food is AMAZEBALLS, and the facilities are actually clean. Do you know how rare that is in this area? Try finding another hotel around here that serves you as well .. a place where they do as promised, and don't show you attitude when you ask them to hurry up. WORLD CLASS 10/10 💯
