So I read the reviews from the other travels and had to laugh. They where defiantly people who only stay at tourist resorts! The Mash Park is not a 5 star tourist resort but it is a great hotel for this part of Kenya especially Kisii town. We stayed almost a week there so i feel very good about writing this review. The hotel offers nice sized, clean rooms with separate hot shower and toilet. Plus a small cable tv. They have cleaning service daily for your room. Mash Park also has beautiful garden/grass area with outside seating and a children's play area Plus it is very safe. Your stay comes with breakfast which i found delightful. Fresh fruit, omelets, boiled eggs, sausage, cereal and more plus hot coco, coffee or tea. The restaurant is open all day till late and has a great reputation with the locals and with us to! I found the food to be very good. Remember when you stay here that you are not in Nairobi you are in Kisii, Africa and things are African, you may smell trash burning or not have a view that is perfect. But the price you pay for what you get is very good. When we are in Kisii we very much enjoy staying and eating...
Read moreOur GV volunteer team stayed for a week at the Mash Park Hotel. There are three buildings. The one closest to the highway (Building A) includes the reception and restaurant and is more convenient but some of our group found to be a bit noisy as it is next to the highway and all sounds reverberate in the concrete structure. Building C which is down the stairs and is a further walk from the parking area is a bit more quiet when: there are not too many guests; when the neighbor dogs aren't fighting; and when the rooster is not crowing except for the weekend (Starting Friday night) when the courtyard music is loud until 2 am. The shower hot water (individual unit heaters) worked in some rooms but not in others. The wi-fi was functional in the courtyard area between building B and C where there is a limited selection bar and nice lounge chairs for socializing. Hope you have fun if you stay here as it only minimally meets the 'clean basic accommodations' that are promised with these type of...
