Jabali Country Lodge — Hotel in Kokwanyo/Kakelo ward

The Lodge is located about 10kms from Oyugis Town on your way to Ringa ( Google Navigator will get you there) There is a rough stretch of about 1km off the main road – not sure how it holds up during the rainy season.||||The grounds / gardens are beautiful and well take care of. They have benches where you can sit with your book, or just while the day away. Camping grounds / facilities are also available.||||Food was good ( I had dinner and breakfast ) and the restaurant and bar are very well done – see photos. Service was excellent all around - very helpful staff !||||The Room||It was okay - spacious with a small balcony overlooking the garden (Room No. 9)||Tea and coffee making facilities are provided as well as a complimentary bottle of water. A small fridge is also available for use||My room had a plumbing issue and water dripped all night – I sort of had to wade through the small puddle to use the bathroom. They tried to mop it in the night when I raised it – but it was all back by morning||||I would have given 5 stars be it not for the plumbing issue. That said, I will certainly be back ! Why is this resort here, in the middle of nowhere, down a dirt track and with no views? The place was virtually empty so very little atmosphere.||Anyway we went for food and it was fine. The chicken was very chewy...too much so in fact. We ordered 3 mango juices and they came out with 3 1-litre cartons which was quite excessive. And many of the drinks on the menu weren't stocked that evening despite the place being dead.||Some nice points like the hot towels before and after the food, friendly waitress. I have tried several 'hotels' in and around Oyugis and I have no hesitation in recommending Jabali Country Lodge. It is by far the best.||||The rooms are well appointed. The wifi is not great, but it is better than anywhere else in the area. The menu is much more varied than any other restaurant or hotel in the area and the staff are very friendly and willing to help.
