This is a TEXTBOOK holiday destination that when you are told tales about it, it seems to be a dream. My friends and I embarked on a trip to this Laikipia Gem. We were picked up in Nanyuki Town by our driver Paul Kasaine, the most charming, smart, conversant with all the details about the conservancy and incredibly wonderful company to be around. Upon arrival the welcome was amazing. We were briefed by the Manager, Jens, on what to expect and look forward to. We watched the sun set on top of the Bird Nest while sipping the finest South African Wine; will never forget that view. The accommodation is the true definition of luxury. Artwork and incredible framed images from some of the most talented photographers in the world are dotted all around the facilities. The food prepared for us by Chef Elizabeth was 10/10. Her soups are top notch. Andrew Leshao ensured that drinks were aplenty and we never had a dull moment with this guy. Segera Retreat is worth any traveler's consideration. The game drive experience is surreal. Elephants, giraffes, lions, leopards, you name it! All the majestic animals except for the rhino patrol this beautiful Savannah. The goodbyes will be the toughest.

Only a special place makes you want an extended stay when traveling. I found that place with Segera Retreat. With a negative COVID-19 PCR test, I easily and safely traveled to Kenya. Upon arriving at Segera I was warmly greeted by people who were also tested, wearing masks and constantly sanitizing their hands. I had a wonderful time filled with activities, animal sightings and I was completely pampered. Supporting wild spaces, wild life and local communities was also a benefit of my stay. The grounds were gorgeous with well placed works of contemporary African art. The lodging was well appointed and came with views of giraffe, elephant and zebra. The food was terrific-the best out of all the many lodges I have been to on the continent of Africa. The entire staff demonstrated service excellence with a genuine hospitality which only comes from the heart. I will be returning to Segera Retreat for a safe, luxurious, extended stay.

We had an really nice time. Staff is super well trained and so nice. The resort itself is very chic, modern and elegant. Beautiful vegetation and savannah view. I could see the wild giraffes straight near our villa. The food is great, their chef is amazing! Super healthy and delicious food. I would like to warmly thank Segera staff for organising such a nice birthday for me.

I have traveled all over the world and this is the most incredible, unique place I have ever visited. Diverse safari experience that is devoted and passionate about conservation efforts. Each game drive is tailored to your interests! The guides are extremely knowledgeable and we learned so much. The retreat is spectacular: beautiful rooms, clean, elegant, tasteful, beautiful decor. The views from the villa are breathtaking, elephants and giraffes walking right past your room! The gardens and the artwork are moving and tell so many stories. We were there for almost a full week and could not get over the food. The food is fresh, flavorful, and creative. The team at Segera is what makes it so magical. EVERY interaction with EVERY team member was personable and friendly. No detail is overlooked. I wish I could remember everyone's names and personally thank them. They are always several steps ahead anticipating your every need. Most of all, I was so touched with the way they accommodated our children (8 and 10 years old); in addition to the game drives, they had an abundance of activities that my children loved (cooking lessons, picking fresh veggies from the garden, fishing excursions, beading, meeting the anti-poaching dogs, picnics, and so much more)! This is an educational, moving, luxurious experience with so much to offer. We also enjoyed the art tour, meeting with the rhino observation team, incredible massages, yoga classes, and meeting the local community members who welcomed us so warmly. If you have an opportunity, GO HERE! Special thanks to Mike (our server), all of our room attendants (Peris), Jerry (art curator), Mwayne and ChekChek (safari guides), Charles, Gladys, and EVERYONE who works here and was so open in sharing their passions with us. I could go on and on, thank you Segera for making this the most special vacation I have ever...

Segera retreat is a stunning lodge in every way. ||All the rooms are beautiful and each has its special touches.||The artistic sensibility of this lodge is one of the main reasons for staying here. I loved all the touches from the chandeliers, to the pottery, to the huge jars of honey, to the wash room in the former stable, the beads made by the local women, and the bronze boat in the area outside the gym. To me, this latter ensemble resembled a typical household structure in Cameroon.||The gardens are extraordinary as was the vegetable garden where we gathered greens for our lunch.|| The food is simply delectable and always beautifully presented. I liked the fact that each meal was served in a different venue. The sous-chefs were almost as talented as the main chef.||I am writing this review several weeks after our stay and, unfortunately, I can’t remember all the names of the people who worked there to single out individually. Our very tall waiter, a Turkana, was charming, smart, gracious and always anxious to please. I was inspired by his life story. ||Our safaris were most enjoyable and our guide charming and very knowledgeable.||The environmental goals of Segera are most admirable and I enjoyed learning about the variopus propgrams.||Unfortunately, I could not visit their school because my stay was during the weekend.||Thank you for a marvelous and...
