Sosian Lodge — Hotel in Laikipia County

Absolutely amazing experience here!!!! Was here for 5 nights 6/2022 and legitimately cried when I left. The staff is so amazing and makes you feel so incredibly welcome and wanted! The staff I spent the most time with were; Albie, Megan (badass with a bullwhip), Ollie & Harry, John, James and David. They are all EXTREMELY knowledgable when it comes to the ins and outs of Kenya and it's wildlife! I was never without an answer to all of my many many questions about the environment.

The lodge itself is beautiful and very well maintained with lots of color and coziness! Perfect blend of rustic and luxurious! The pool was absolutely stunning and I really enjoyed the variety of furniture available for lounging.

The food deserves it's own 5* review because HOLY COW!!! Every single thing we ate was stunning and delicious. The chef deserves a standing ovation after every course. Bring elastic pants ;)

We saw so much wildlife I can't even list them all but there is no shortage! We were able to get up close and personal (game drive or horseback) with giraffe, lions, elephants, hippos, and countless others. You won't be disappointed!

The horseback riding was top notch as well. Megan selected the horses for us based on our experience levels and they were all a perfect fit! Please give KQ some carrots for me if you have the pleasure of riding her. We were able to do a nice long afternoon ride to the fly camp which was a 5 star experience as well. Everything was set up and ready for us by the time we got up to the spot on horseback. Full bar, bathroom, shower with hot water, beautiful roaring bonfire, another amazing meal grilled over the fire, and of course, amazing conversation!

This is already getting too long but I could drone on for hours about how special an experience I had. I can't wait to go back.

We absolutely loved our stay at Sosian Lodge! The staff was incredible: Toby, Cassia, Megan, Hannah, Gabre, Simon, Joe (I know I’m forgetting several more!) made our visit so comforting and enjoyable. The food was absolutely delicious and we loved the communal/family table that enabled us to meet other guests and safari exchange stories! The activities at this lodge were endless: horseback riding, camelback riding, tennis, bocce ball, swimming, camping, fishing, kayaking, biking, walking safaris, bush meals, etc. There was a little something for everyone and it appealed to multiple generations. We were traveling with family ages 11-79 and everyone loved their adventures here! We had an extra layer of adventure when our 11-year-old daughter experienced a medical emergency during our stay at Sosian. Toby went above and beyond to help us. He drove us to the nearest hospital late at night, helped us navigate the admissions/evaluation process there, arranged for local hotel rooms near the hospital, and booked a med-evac plane to transport us to Nairobi so my daughter could have an emergency appendectomy surgery. He NEVER left our side during this entire process. We literally could not have gotten through this situation without Toby’s expertise and support. Our gratitude is beyond measure to Toby and Sosian Lodge! We hope to book another trip to return to...

Sosian was absolutely stunningly beautiful. A really tasteful safari lodge with absolutely impeccable service. All the staff were so friendly and enthusiastic, and dedicated to give their guests the most memorable experience of their lives. They made our trip into the perfect Safari experience, everything we could have hoped for was put together for us and we felt extremely lucky and spoilt to have seen so many animals. Camping out in the bush - was an especially wonderful experience offered by the ever enthusiastic staff, the sounds and the beautiful African sky at night were completely breathtaking. We went on horseback and camelback safaris which are great if you want to feel part of the bush and hear all the sounds, also the waterfalls are well worth a visit and a jump! Sosian was the most special experience for me and my friends and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone...
