Brackenhurst Conference and Retreat Centre — Hotel in Limuru East ward

Brackenhurst is one of my favorite places to stay in Kenya. People like Rachel, Maureen, Esther, Eddie with IT and many others make this place so comfortable to stay. Whenever we have had any questions, wants, needs or concerns they have done everything they can to make sure they are addressed. I have stayed here both with my family and without and they are able to accommodate both ry well. There is plenty of room for kids to play and the wifi here is amazing! It looks like they recently updated the wifi because I see new boosters throughout the campus. I have created a top 10 tips/insights from spending time at Brackenhurst

1. This is Kenya so don't be afraid to try to negotiate rates if you are going to be staying for an extended period of time or if you are a returning client of theirs.
2. If you are staying for a long time there is local houshelp that they can suggest that are trustworthy that can even go grocery shopping for you and make meals if you are staying in a cottage.
3. There is a full board or just breakfast food plan that can be purchased with the stay. If I'm coming on short 1 to 2 day business I really like to get the breakfast included and then purchase my other meals via the restaurant.
4. Security is very good. If security has been an issue for you in the past then rest assured that they patrol regularly and there is a strict procedure for the comings and goings of guests.
5. Pay the additional money for them to make a fire for you in your room or cottage. Last time we paid it was around ksh 500 per night for them to provide wood and start a fire for you.
6. They provide good clean water from their bore hole at no extra cost. This is some of the best water.
7. Browns Cheese (aka Cheese Love) is very close by. You can go to where they make the cheese and buy from them directly. Limuru had the best milk in the country which produces the best cheese.
8. Don't be afraid to walk outside of the gate towards the tea fields. This is a great walk and beautiful scenery.
9. You can get to Two Rivers Mall in about 30 minutes. This is a great day trip for the family and do a little shopping
10. For those golf enthusiasts, Limuru Country Club is very close to Brackenhurst and for ksh 3,100 to ksh 3,600 on certain days they will allow the general public to play. This is one of the most beautiful well kept...

Brackenhurst Conference and Retreat Centre, located approximately 20 km northwest of Nairobi in Limuru, offers a serene escape from the city's bustle. Nestled amidst lush tea fields and indigenous forests, the centre provides a tranquil environment ideal for relaxation and family outings.

During our lunch at the on-site Muna Tree Café, we enjoyed a burger with fries and pasta marinara. The service was prompt, and despite the presence of many patrons, the attentive staff ensured our family group was well catered to. The portions were generous, and the dishes were flavorful, exceeding our expectations.
