Gelian Hotel — Hotel in Machakos

Long review but worth it .||This weekend, I decided to take a drive to Machakos after being in Nairobi like forever.| If you live in Nairobi,you know how stressful it can get at times with work,life and other things to balance. So ,this fine Saturday I decide to check out Machakos and have a fresh breath of air. The drive from Nairobi is approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour,quite reasonable.|We (I went with a friend ,making the trip even more fun ☺️) got to Gelian hotel and let me tell you,you need to visit them, experience all this so you don't mistake my review for an Ad 😂.|There staff were amazing,from the entrance where they helped with our luggage to the parking bay, to the reception!(Maureen and team were so kind and helpful).|The food guys 😋...from lunch (we did free-range chicken and mashed potatoes),to dinner(pork ribs and french fries) to breakfast(assorted)..there was consistency and our taste buds loved every bite. It was so good,no lie. The chef knows his thing.||The rooms were spacious,well lit and aerated,fitted with an air conditioner (Machakos can get hot at times,so you're covered),a work desk, a safe and modern spring beds.|They have a swimming pool, a roof top area (there's a DJ on weekends and a kids play area too) and have a functional bar on the 1st floor..|The best part of this facility is it's conference hosting capability (sp).|Picture this,....you are having your training/conference somewhere outside Nairobi (and not too far just Incase you need to travel back), favourable weather and the best food! You can take a swim after the sessions, have a drink at the bar or the rooftop and your cozy room thereafter☺️....ooooh,and there's a gym too for fitness enthusiasts !|I did not get a chance to check out the conference rooms but from the pictures,they are great.||My visit was a weekend out of town but I would like to go back on a work trip! I recently had the pleasure of facilitating a 4-day workshop for the EACC team at Gelian Hotel in Machakos. The experience was outstanding! The hotel staff were warm, professional, and always willing to assist, ensuring that everything ran smoothly. The meals were nothing short of delicious, with a variety that catered to all tastes. The hotel's location is in a secure, serene environment, which provided a conducive atmosphere for both work and relaxation.

The conference rooms are clean, well arranged and spacious. The projector screen was very helpful. The projector was in good working condition throughout the retreat. The toilets were well maintained and clean.

The services from the hotel were top notch. The hospitality team especially at 2nd floor conference rooms were very kind, helpful and very fast to respond to requests. The meals were very Sweet. the bakery at ground floor is another area I visited personally. The Pastry production is top notch with sweet doughnuts, muffins, teascones and cakes. They only need to revise the pricing of those products.
