The Elephant Pepper Camp in the Mara North Conservancy is a true gem! This was the 3rd Elewana property we visited in Kenya during our safari trip, and the service at this camp is what really sets it apart. From the moment we arrived, the staff's incredible hospitality made our stay unforgettable. Our guide, Sammy, was exceptional. His keen sense of where to find wildlife led us to some amazing sightings, like a lioness with her three adorable cubs, watching 4 lionesses surround 2 warthogs, as well as giving us lots of interesting information about the animals we were seeing (e.g., did you know zebras are actually black animals with white stripes?).
The culinary experience was top-notch, thanks to the best chef we've ever encountered. Every meal was incredibly delicious, and he even made me a non-pork version of a scotch egg, which was so yummy! Very inventive with adapting to my “no red meat” dietary preference. Moses, the general manager, was charming and funny, creating a warm atmosphere that permeated through his fantastic team.
Being able to watch elephants roam thru the grass daily in front of our tent patio and in the view of the dining lawn was so magical.
Our room steward, Dickson, added a special touch by placing hot water bottles under our blankets on chilly nights and always being there when we needed anything. The tent was beautifully decorated (I felt like I was in a Ralph Lauren catalog), immaculately clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Great WiFi connection as well for sending all our amazing pix to our jealous friends and family back home via WhatsApp.
The bush breakfast was an incredible experience—beautifully set up and delicious. When it was time to leave, the staff sent us off with thoughtfully packed boxed breakfasts and lunches, including a tomato and cucumber sandwich with fresh focaccia bread that I had mentioned loving from a prior breakfast.
On our last nite, the entire staff came out singing a traditional Kenyan song for my husband’s birthday, and I hadn’t even mentioned that it was his birthday! They brought out a wonderful birthday cake and it was such a special experience. I wholeheartedly recommend Elephant Pepper Camp for anyone visiting Kenya for an amazing safari...

We stayed at the Elephant Pepper Camp for 3 nights and it was a very pleasant experience. The camp itself is relatively small and we stayed at tent no. 10 which is a suited tent. We’ve got a big living space, big beds and we could chill outside on our veranda with sun chairs and a hammock where we saw elephants, dik dik and a lot of birds. When we were staying in mid August, it was really cold at night and a hot water bottle would be placed in our bed after the second game drive. Nice touch :)
The tent itself is not fenced so we need to be escorted to and fro from our tent when it’s dark. We saw elephants pretty closed by in the dark, thanks to a security heard the noise and flashed the light.
Food is delicious and they did try their best for fine dining experience. For lunch, it’s tepas with a few dishes sharing amongst ourselves and it’s a la cart menu at night time. Portions are not big but the food are delicious and cooked to perfection.
As for our game drive, our guide Jackson is very knowledgeable, friendly and know where to find the animals. We saw cheetah, leopard, pride of lions, topis, grant gazelles, zebra, elephants, giraffes, wildebeests, buffaloes, hippos and lots of birds.
Everything is perfect at the camp, if massage services are provided, it will be even...
Read moreWe had the extreme pleasure of staying at Elephant Pepper Camp during a safari back in March. It would have been very easy to write a positive review when we returned as everything that we experienced was fresh and new. Now that some time has passed, it is still truly easy to write an extremely positive review. When you continue to reminisce and talk about an experience and after months it still makes you smile, you know you have done something extremely special. Everything about Elephant Pepper Camp was delightful. Every staff member was friendly, kind, professional and service oriented. From the manager, Moses (who was always enjoyable to talk to), to our waiter (that would give us Swahili lessons at every meal), to the amazing head chef (who created menus and meals that could easily rival some of the best Napa Valley restaurants), to the gentlemen delivered coffee to our tent in the morning, everyone absolutely spoiled us. We appreciated them all! The tents were comfortable and complete with everything that you could want or need. The location was beautiful and perfect for exploring the area. Special activities outside of the camp were incredible. Asante Sana to all at Elephant Pepper Camp for a memorable and wonderful...
