I recently had the privilege of staying at Mara Ngenche lodge, and I cannot express how extraordinary this experience was. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the beauty of the location. Located in the heart of the Maasai Mara National Reserve, this lodge offers breathtaking views of the African savannah. One of the features that really stood out about my stay was the meticulous attention paid to the catering. The meals were not only delicious, but also well presented. Each dish was a fusion of great nice flavors, showcasing local and international cuisine. the decorations at the lodge were simply magnificent. Every corner of this establishment was tastefully decorated, skillfully combining traditional and modern elements to create a warm and authentic atmosphere. The careful details were reminiscent of culture while providing luxurious comfort. The layout of our room was absolutely perfect!! Spacious, elegant and equipped with everything necessary, it was a haven of peace after a day of exploring. The view from my private terrace was breathtaking, with wild animals coming to drink in the nearby river (Talek or Mara i dont remember exatcly). Mara Ngenche’s staff also deserves a special mention! Their kindness, professionalism and dedication made my stay unforgettable. They were always ready to meet my needs and make me feel at home. Finally, the location of the lodge is simply magical. Being so close to nature and the wonders of maasai Mara was an invaluable experience. The daily safaris were a captivating adventure, with incredible encounters with African wildlife. In summary, the Mara Ngenche lodge is a REAL hidden gem in the Maasai Mara National Reserve and I strongly advise you to opt for this accommodation during your visit to kenya. It was much more than just a stay, it was an experience that will remain forever engraved in my memory. If you are looking for a perfect place to marvel at nature and culture, I highly recommend visiting this...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed at Mara Ngenche for 3 nights as part of our honeymoon and I can honestly say it was the best experience we have both had on a trip before. Initial thoughts are "oh we're sleeping in a tent for 3 nights" but I was SO wrong. We had tent #1 which was so spacious, the outside shower was brilliant, the plunge pool for when we got back from drives was an added bonus. The camp is right on the 2 main rivers so you can hear the hippos talking at night which we both found hilarious.||When we got picked up from the airstrip by Gladys, we were told it should take about an hour to get to camp. Well 2.5 hours later (after telling Gladys we couldn't wait to start animal spotting) we arrived at the camp. Anyone who has Gladys is SO lucky. She is absolutely fabulous and so knowledgeable about everything, we even learnt about birds we'd never even heard of before! She was more than happy to give us time to take our videos, photos and checked that we were happy before we carried on driving. We also got the chance to go to a Masai Village. If you get the chance to do it, you must! It's an extra charge of 35 dollars PP but so interesting and everyone was so friendly.||Back to camp life, there are even more positives to share. The service and food were incredible. We couldn't believe how much food we were offered, the choices (you'd pick when you get back from your morning game drive for your lunch and at lunchtime you'd choose evening meal) was extensive enough to cover many cuisines! On our last night the team set up a meal with candles outside of our tent, with a waiter coming to give our food and drink between courses. We even had our security guide at the end of our garden during the whole meal checking for hippos! ||I would highly recommend Mara Ngenche to anyone. If you want a real luxury, special trip to the Masai Mara, this is the...
Read moreThis place is a dream. We stayed here for our honeymoon in July 2025 and had a true once in a lifetime experience at the Mara Ngeche camp. ||The tent was gorgeous and superbly comfortable - luxurious with beautiful little details at every turn, including nightly turndown service complete with candles and hot water bottles tucked into the bed. During the day, the tent is opened up with screens allowing you to enjoy the deck and private pool, and of course outdoor shower. At night, they close it up and the place is quiet and dark, allowing for deep sleep. ||The game drives with Lucas were a lifetime highlight - he made sure we saw everything that the reserve had to offer and we really felt he went above and beyond at every turn to help us have an action-packed game drive every single time we left the camp. The game drives exceeded all expectations and were truly the perfect blend of enjoying the bucolic scenery with spotting action and getting close - REALLY close - to animals you'd never imagine coming face to face with. ||I've saved the best for last - the food and service at the camp earned ten stars from us. Stephen is the most attentive server you could want - he's with you at every meal, remembering your preferences, being present but not overbearing, and ensuring that special touches hit just right. He surprised us with a private dinner on our room deck for our honeymoon -- perfectly quiet and candlelight facing the Mara river. I mean, come on. Or another day we came home to find a bottle of champagne on ice in our room. Simon the chef came out of the kitchen every night to check on us and be sure we were happy - but we always were.||Mara Ngeche is the spot -...
