Muthoki Country Lodge — Hotel in Masii ward

The staff are amazing and very friendly if you talk with them. The property is beautiful and there are trails to walk on, a pond, and lots of wildlife to see. It is gated and guarded so I fet very safe there. The owner also gave us a tour of the property and showed us all the different native plants growing there and their medicinal properties which was super cool. I had a sore throat while I was there and she made me a special tea that made me feel good as new by morning which I was very grateful for. I stayed in a tent and it was very nice, clean, comfortable, and had plenty of space. It was nice to be able to hear the nature sounds at night. Bathroom was connected as part of the tent which was cool and was very nice had everything we needed. There are some activities on the property too they had hammocks, badminton, and a firepit where we could sit and chat. Lots of fun times in that spot. 10/10...

Beware. I booked guest and was shown pictures and videos of very nice tents with running water and flushing toilets. When we showed up the brought us to temporary tents set up in the dirt and told our guest to scoop dirt over where they use the bathroom. This was very unacceptable considering we spent $8,000 for the lodging. They refused to refund our money and lied about the pictures we were shown. We contacted the police who have committed to prosecute them for the fraud of $8,000. We also were stuck having to pay for other lodging. Beware of this place, the people cannot be trusted. I would recommend liming elsewhere for lodging. I had 2 booking, each $8,000 and they have refused to allow me to cancel and will not...

Staff are friendly and engaging. Rooms are not only superb and well priced but have necessary amenities if you wish to cook for yourself. It's the kind of place you stay at for several weeks. Ideal for the adventuring traveller and cyclist.

Board games, bonfires, dam and fishpond to keep you engaged. But could use fast and working wifi and a swimming pool for those inevitable extended stays you are likely to make.

Surprisingly no mosquitoes and other familiar tropical creepy crawlies. Perfect retreat...
